Hey mate long time no speak! Anyway, I cubed last season using a JigWrex S526 on a SW20000PG Stella with some 80lb, plenty of fin on it up to 40kg...dont need to tell you how good the stella performed but the rod made fighting the fin a breeze...plenty of grunt in the butt to turn their heads...I havent used the Tcurve but id fully recommend the JigWrex. BUT...if you want to really concentrate on jigging/cubing fin then I think you'll appreciate the shorter JigWrex..the extra length of the Tcurve will probably give you a bit more distance on the cast but it might hurt a bit more in a long fight... Honestly mate, with the average size of 'fin off sydney I dont think you will have any trouble with whatever you choose, our fin are pretty small compared to other parts of the world...its just some people like the bling factor of a Stella....like me Daniel

Hey mate. Havent fished with a V-Series as of yet but last weekend we cubed with a 20000 Stella (New Jap Model) alongside Sammy's 18000 Saragosa. Caught yellowfin to 15kg on each so they weren't really tested, they both performed flawlessly although thats the minimum you'd expect on fish that size. Just a couple of things I noticed between the two. When retrieving line it was obvious that the Stella laid the line on the spool more neatly than the Saragosa which was a bit lumpy (Stella had 80lb braid, Saragosa had 50lb). Subsequently this meant that the line didnt come off the spool as freely as it did on the Stella when the cube was sinking down the trail. Personally I reckon its worth going the Stella its an amazing bit of kit I have mine matched to a JigWrex (which are cheap ATM) and I will never cube with a tiagra again lol.... Daniel

Simple answer is NO. The smaller marlin eg. stripes are nice especially smoked, but as they get bigger they dont taste nearly as good and there is also increased mercury levels which isnt good for us....

Still no reports of tuna by the looks of things, did you hear anything boutime?

Also heard about the white, Glenn on Tantrum estimated it at 2000lb and 20 ft. plus. A gew makos have been tagged as well as a few blue sharks, not many fin though...

Its a custom rod....hence YOU choose what components go on your rod, whether it be SiC's or Alconites. I think Iain uses custom blanks but may be wrong...

6.2:1 is a crap ratio to jig with. Most jiggers will be using a gear ratio much lower than that in thes 4's. Its more important to have that cranking power to pull big fish away from reefs that comes with a lower ratio rather than higher line retrieve with a high ratio.....
