  1. Thanks Kingie chaser for taking time for us. Unfortunately we aren't allowed to go past the bridge. Our boundaries are Wisemans - Mooney road bridge + parts of berowra I did try searching prev posts but most of them were for lower reaches of the river.
  2. Hello raiders, I've booked couple of nights on a houseboat for a mental wellbeing boys trip (escape from the missus 24/7 due to covid🤪) from Wisemans ferry in mid November and I was hoping if fellow raiders can help us out with some tips and spots. I'm fairly used to fishing Pittwater, Cowan and Smith but I have no idea what to expect anywhere upstream especially without a sounder. We can only go as far as Mooney Mooney bridge down the river. I guess Berowra waters could also be an option tho we aren't allowed to go in too far. Any pointers for decent places to anchor down for the night with decent fishing, daytime spots, baits to use would be greatly appreciated. We will salute you as we smash through our slabs of beer. Thanks guys!!
  3. cheers mate but there is an uncealed road (still ok with 2wd) sort of South West of Marra apparently according to the national park website. From end of the road, it said its an easy 3.5km walk down to the campsite so was planning to come down that way
  4. Walk isnt that far at all apparently. Just few kms from the spot you leave your car. Basin- Im very familiar because my fishing buddy had his boat moored in Pittwater. The fact that place has everything you need sorta put me off. Ah that video, watched it many times actually but I dont think there was tips for upper reaches and more importantly during winter. Any raiders out there whos playground is in Berowra and knows the place inside out? Would you be able to get those winter bluenose up that far??
  5. Cheers for the reply Reubs. Patonga was on our list but we wanted to go somewhere quiet amongst the bush so leaned towards Berowra even though the creek might completely shut down this time of the year. Well I guess we can still sit around the fire and knock down some rum as a plan B
  6. Hi fellow raiders, I need your help!! Myself and few of the boys from work are planning to harden up and squeeze out a leave pass from the missus, brave the cold and spend a night out camping at Marramarra creek in the near future but the problem is, though some of us have been up that way, none of us have actually been up that far before! Most of us are keen but inexperienced fishos and we are hoping some of you might be able to shed some light for us so we can catch something other than massive hangover and a cold A) is the upper Marra near the campsite fresh or saltwater? what species do you target around this time of the year and what techniques, baits or lure should we use? C) anything else that is worth a shot such as crabs? D) any known spots that produces? Btw we are marching down there on foot so it will just be off the banks only. Thank you all in advance !!! God bless ya all
  7. Thanks Roberta and Tom ! Looks like theres fair bit of westerly tomorrow and my main purpose is to get out there with an old mate to have a few relaxing beers so will try few old mooring inside Pitty and see if I could trick couple of breams. Still new to the world of SPs but our aim is not to take any bait with us and go hard on SPs on a light gear so will see how I go. Thank you all for the info! much appreciated! Beats going out shopping with nagging missus anyday hehe
  8. G'day fellow raiders, I'm planning to get out to good old Pittwater to throw few SPs around and was wondering if anyone had any luck recently? Last few outings ended up throwing back pinkies after pinkies so yeah was wondering if anythings changed. Seems Pittwater is as good as dead these days...please pros..leave us some for some fun and games ! promise I'll throw'em back
  9. So lads, any luck with the hairies?? or was it just another day at the 40+ boats parking lot, freezing your hands off
  10. Thanks all!! Geez 40 boats.. I've always found Hairtails fish better at incoming tide just after dark so might give this weekend a miss..its bloody freezing as well!! If anyone braves out let us know how you go
  11. Hi Fellow raiders, Was thinking of either hitting JB or WB this Sat to try get my hands on my first hairy after 15 years but I've noticed that posts relating to hairies haven't been that active last week or so. Are they still around?? Should I bother braving out the cold? Thanks all
  12. Thanks. Will have a go at Taylors pt and hopefully, I can post a report worth writing about ! Will also try frozen burley bucket
  13. Thanks for your advice. Much appreciated. One question tho, does western side of Scotty island fish well? how about somewhere like Elvina bay? Will definitely burley up and hopefully I have something to post about in the near future
  14. Dear fellow raiders, My friend has a boat moored around the edge of Mccarrs creek (South Western end of Pittwater) and we are keen fishos so we take it out around the area every now and then but all we end up doing is because bites are too far in between. Got to a point where we don't feel motivated to even drop a line... Any suggestions as to where we should start in the area and fire us back up? Any sort of advise is much appreaciated
