Thank you luderick59 your a champ i was going to try my luck with the soft plastics resembling yellowtail but will def try live bait ( never used that before either can you belive that lol ) thanks very much for the advice mate maybe ill catch you down there sometime ... im going straight after work if i can ditch the kids lol , and thanks for the warnings about the waves etc havent been rock fishing for long but goddamn its scarey sometimes Cheers

Hi fellow raiders how are we all ? Just a quick question , would i be delusional to target kingfish of dee why headland , i dont know much about kingies but would love a go and dee why headland is a 3 min walk from home any advice is greatly appreciated , its just ive never caught one before and i bet it would be a mad rush Cheers

i was thinking about it but i have a horrible vision of showing up and there being an abundance of 4 x 4 and camping but only a little fishing gear ... Has anyone been ?

My success was on the new squidgy pro "fish" Grasshopper colour , i still have not tried the pearl watermelon but will do next fishing trip ( sigh which means a sunday ) unless the weather picks up then i can go after work ( I love daylight savings dont get em up home qld ) Jarad Happy fishing all ....

Is there anywhere you can buy fresh cunje ? ( sorry for going off topic all ) i mean things like ab gut is available for purchase so there's gotta be somewhere that peddles cunje

yeah ab gut has to be the smellyest stuff ever , but it does catch the fish , will have to have a go at the prawns though , and i have heard that cunje works well too Jarad

I havent chased the pigs either l8ly been focusing on the lake . But always keen for a feed of drummer , i caught my first one a few days after i moved here at dy headland , by chance on a piece of squid lol , id also like to know when they spawn ... Ta Jarad

Well goodmorning all , first id like to thank everyone for their advice I have some success to report After flicken my first new squidgey ( Grasshopper colour ) into the lake , i jigged it up and down and gave the line a few quick retreives and BANG it felt like a truck hit my squidgey .... my drag was set to high and he snapped my line and swam off ... Re - Rigged i flick another squidgey in .... After a few gentle pulses on the line i hooked onto a nice taylor he fought for about 3 mins and measured a decent 32cm i let him go to fight another day Well i flick another squidgey into the lake , and 30 seconds later i got hit by another truck fish lol well i lost another rig for the day and the kids were getting hungry so i called it quits ..... But now i have a newfound love of the lake and those awsome squidgeys Thanks again everyone HAPPY FISHING

Never caught a king fish in my life ... as a matter of fact i did not even know they existed until this year But really really keen to give it a go one day , Beautiful Fish

See more great advice thats what i love about these forums .... Thanks Kit i might actually try the 2-3 kg rod my mate gave me its one of those rods with the cork grip havent used it yet but its very light and whippy Cheers all
