  1. you lucky lucky lucky bugger... for the front yard!!
  2. Joe, Well done mate - that is a great day out. Your son will never forget that day and that is worth more than all the fish in the world! I take my son out too.... we just have to catch fish....
  3. Gday Raiders, I was wondering if anyone has experience smoking fish... all obvious jokes aside please! hehehe.. My question is what are the better fish for smoking and do you have any specific techniques to ensure an even yet subtle flavour? All my attempts and resulted in over smoked and dried our fish... missues wasnt happy! Thanks in advance!
  4. Ice man - I think we have to get together and think about this. I too am out of a job. I, unfortunately am a white collar worker and was made redundant 4 weeks ago. The market is tough and job vacancies are at an all time low (lowest in 8 yrs) Maybe sometime on the water with a line in and a couple of will inspire us!!
  5. What about Richmond Airbase or Bankstown?
  6. Thanks - where abouts at CP? around the wharfs? In close or out a bit? Thanks again.
  7. Gday Raiders, Ive been off the site for a while but now Im back. Just thought Id ask if raiders have been finding any squid in the Hawkesbury near Brooklyn or Apple Tree Bay. These are the most accessible waterways for me. Ive never had any luck hunting for squid up there so keen to find some spots. Thanks Raiders. Tan
  8. Hey guys, I'd be up for a beach fish any time you want to... just got made redundant. PM me to set up a trip. Thanks Tan
  9. I find the best way to launch is LEAVE CHILD IN CAR UNTIL YOU LAUNCH & PARK CAR! 1. Load all gear onto boat at home - check that bungs are in 2. Arriving at ramp and wait for your turn to launch 3. Launch boat and tie up to wharf 4. Go and park car - take boat keys with you 5. Grab child and proceed to boat I worry too much with my kid waiting at the wharf for me to park the car - anything could happen.
  10. Gday Raiders, Thank you for the birthday wishes - I have been offline for a while but now I am back. Thanks again Tan
  11. clean and check carby is it a 2 stroke engine? if so, then check oil ratio n fuel mix. If still no good - take to hueys - site sponsor!
  12. the old bush telegraph seems to be alive and well eh!
  13. Cast a butterflied yakka, salmon or tailor into gutters at dusk or dawn at almost any beach and you will catch a few. Make sure you stake a burley bag down in the wash 15-30 mins before casting. As soon as I get to the beach and pick my gutters, I fill a stocking or onion bag with fish bits and burley, then stake it down with two stakes to prevent it washing around in the surf. I would also have a live tailor or salmon out on another rod for a jew or shark. An hour each side of dusk and dawn are the best times!
