  1. 35 odd years ago, when it was made compulsory to wear a seat belt in a car, I bet plenty of people thought that it was an inconvenience and not necessary - how many lives has that saved ? Offshore anglers were recently made to spend $500 to buy an EPIRB - because of the small chance that something might go wrong Wearing of lifejckets when crossing a bar is also compulsory (it would be interesting to see the statistics of bar crossing fatalities V rock fishing fatalites ??? ) Wearing of life jackets when rock fishing is no different - it will save lives !!!
  2. I have found the most reliable area for a feed is throwing squid jigs around the moored boats at Shoal Bay - you can almost guarantee a feed of calamari !
  3. Hi Redza, I initially rivetted it all together, to help getting all the levels and design right.I started by putting a rivet through the aluminium angle & into the rib of the boat. I did this for 3 pieces running across the boat & then used a few bits of flat aluminium as joining pieces, for the angle running from front to back. Once I was happy with the design I got it welded, although it all felt solid, I don't think the rivets would stand up to the pounding that a tinny gets over time. I also used standard 12mm ply, which I painted with an oil based undercoat to seal the wood & stop it from bending or rotting. Carpet was the glued on with a contact adhesive. Hope this helps ! regards Craig
  4. Hi Redza, I would reccommend installing a sub floor if possible. This will increase the strength a ridgity of the floor & allow you to use 12mm ply. Without the subfloor, you will need to use around 15mm ply, which will also increase the weight. I have recently installed a floor and casting deck in my 4m tinny, & a 6 metre length of 40x40x3mm aluminium angle only cost $60. Regards Craig
  5. Once again, I think Melbourne will be the team to beat - too many big names (how do they fit under the salary cap ?) I reckon the Tigers are the dark horse !
  6. Well done, it's always good just getting out there and a bonus to get at least one. It's also better to get reefed a couple of times than get no hits at all !!
  7. Well done on a great day out - Dollies would have to be the best looking fish straight from the water ! The fish on the bottom right looks to have had a hard time - did you guys have a bit of Dollie sashimi while fishing ?
  8. Well done, that is a ripper of a King !! What bait did it take ??
  9. Well done on a great capture - you must be commited to have pushed on in average conditions ! Good pics as well.

  11. Caught on a 30cm live tailor in Brisbane Water. 96cm & released after a few pics
  12. Hi Richmond, This might also help with the lure ID regards Craig
  13. Thanks to everyone for their reples ! NICE GOING, ALWAYS SAD WHEN YOU SEE NICE BREAM WITH NET DAMAGE
  14. Hi all, Hi the Parra & Lane Cover rivers early Sunday for a quick sesion using surface lures. Had a great day with most areas with less than 2 metres of water having a few fish hiding. Caught bream to 37cm, a few whiting to 41cm and a heap of small tailer which wern't much bigger than the lure. One of the bream looked to have had a tough time, with a big chunk out of his back that had completely healed over.
