Three Wednesdays in a row have yielded a feed of flathead ,plus plenty of other species using mainly prawns and a couple of large squid.
Yesterday kept 4 flatties and put back about 10 flathead plus flounder, whiting, tailor, small shovel nose and was bitten off by what was probably a small hammerhead chasing the trawlers.
Despite the trawlers going either side ,the outgoing drift was productive and worth a go.
Looked a bit doubtful at Akuna Bay but day fined up and it was pleasant on the water.
Any day fishing beats any day doing anything else.
