I dont usually carry any gear in the boat, but thinking about it the bulkly 90 Evinrude, the fuel tank, aswell as batteries are all at the rear. I guess ill have to find some heavy gear to put up towards the front. Thanx for the advice ben. Dan

G'day all, I have a 5m half cabin fibreglass boat on a single axle trailer. I find that the boat/trailer startes to swerve from side to side once I reach around 85km+. I have recently changed the hubs, bearings and springs to try and fix this problem, to no avail. I now suspect that the wheels (9inch) may be the problem. Will bigger wheels stop the swerving? Does anyone have any other suggestions of what the problem could be? Cheers.

  9. Thanks for the info...I'm looking for somwhere within two hours drive of Sydney.
  10. hey lads, just wondering whether anyone knows any decent spots for a camping/fishing trip? i am looking for a place similiar to 'The Basin' in Kuring Gai National Park where you can beach the boat near the campsite and be relatively close to decent fishing territory. Any advice would be much appreciated.
  11. Hey guys, If yous are still wondering the boat pictured "Ulyssis Blue" actually belongs to Dick Smith. I recently watched a documentary on one of his expeditions in it.

    Back Into It

Its a 18ft crusiecraft half cabin with an old 85 javelin on the back. Not the prettiest boat but it does the trick.

Yeah definately not a good look but all in all he didn't seem too phased about the whole ordeal. Maybe he was thinking about the insurance he was going to cash in on?
  14. Well just happened to stumble upon this great website last week. After reading many of your fishing reports I decided that it had been too long since I had been for a fish I called up a mate and since he was on holidays and I do shift work we organised a trip out from brooklyn on both friday and saturday. We got out about 2pm on Friday. Anchored just in the chanel off Gunyah point. Got nothing and after about 2 hours decided to head over to Flint and steel. The tailor were biting in large numbers however small size. The sun began to set so we headed back in and looked forward for a better luck in the morning. After a bit of unfortunate luck for one poor bloke at the ramp in brooklyn (he lost his car off the ramp and it submerged in about 5 metres of water.) We had our boat wet and headed for Flint and steel. Had a great time out on the water hooking up a 45cm lizard and having a great fight with a disapointing end, pulling up a massive stringray. Managed to snag a few squid aswell. Setting out again on Tues to Port Hacking looking forward to another great fish.
