  1. Was thinking of heading there when the weather clears up, now I will make sure I get there after seeing that haul. Great stuff mate
  2. down near yaccaba headland where the sand meets the rocks
  3. Facing out to sea i think its bennetts beach not 100% sure
  4. Thanks for clearing that up wasnt 100% sure not really up to scratch on my tuna and mackerel dont tend catch too many in Oberon where i usually fish.
  5. I can certainly testify to the fact that the fishing was hot especially the beach fishing around Port Stephens. I stayed at tea gardens and the first night fished on the beach at winda woppa reserve. The big salmon came out to play double hook up my wife pulls her 70cm salmon in then I manage to drag my 95cm beast out of the water caught on pilchards. After a few more tailor here and there we decided to head home. Woke up the next morning and the wife wants to go for a walk along the beach we fished the night before. I told her I was only coming if I could take my spin rod, so thinking I could flick for some flatties when I got to the bay I only grabbed the 1-3 kg rod with 4lb braid some metal slices and plastics. WELL when we arrived at the beach fish were busting up everywhere and spread out over a kilometre I was running between schools that I could reach with a cast. The first hook up was a solid salmon who jumped about four times and spat the hook. Not a worry next cast the reel screams and screams and screams I was thinking i am gonna get spooled for sure then the fish gave up. Finally I got it in and couldn't believe it, a mack tuna off the beach and thankfully a shark had bitten it's tail off. Saving me from getting spooled. The school stayed around for about 2 hours and I managed to drag in about 30 tailor before the school moved out and i could not reach with a cast so we decided that maybe we will finish the walk another day which also did not make the boss happy, but, the wife didnt mind thankfully.

  7. Yeah mate i live in Oberon and fished it last week me and a mate picked up 38 redfin in two hours using a rapala CD7 aimed at trout, i find once it gets really cold the redfin get a bit quiet up here then you should get some trout but abecedarian is right the next few years should start to see nice size trout around due to the extra food.
  8. The guy was droppoing the rod tip way too fast you never had a chance of getting it in with him on the rod next time take all the glory yourself mate.
