  1. Baz my bait tank is split in two for this exact reason. I prefer to keep things separate but it's only the slimies that are fussy. I always lose one or two cause I find that they need a lot of water and swimming space. I run 2 x 10L tanks now, but in my old 50L tank all of my bait could swim together no problems.
  2. Mate I only have one spot that I catch slimies in and it's very rare that I catch them. Sometimes they just show up. When I'm catching yakkas I find the slimies are out wider. Squid can be caught in a lot of places. All I can say is keep an eye out for other boats casting squid jigs and u will get an idea of where they can be caught.
  3. Small running ball sinker to swivel with approx 1.5 leader. 4/0 gama live bait hook.
  4. Ok I just added my photos to the gallery. Check them out.
  5. Ok I've got more pics to add but it only let me add 1. What am I missing? I know I should be able to add more.
  6. Hey guys. Hit the harbour last thur with my brother who was up from Albury. On the water at 4am. Squid, slimeys and yakkas in the tank by 6am. Headed out to the colours for a while but nothing happening. Came back inside and started sounding out the markers. Decided to anchor up at one, even tho nothing showing, because we were sick of driving round. First bait down was a live slimey. Got smashed before it hit the bottom. After a short fight it busted me off on the mooring. Righto i tell my brother, we are staying here!!!!! Had a total of 8 hookups and boated 3. 106cm, 103cm and 95cm. They def prefered the slimeys in the beggining, but took live and dead squid and also yakkas later on. All caught between 8am and 10am. I was using 20lb braid with 25lb fluro leader. Always used to look at other boats and wonder why they were catching all the fish....well it was finally my time today and i loved every moment!!! Other boats around us but we were in front by far. Guys we were not using flashy or heavy gear so all you young fishermen out there dont stress about having cheap gear or anything like that. Matt.
  7. I was using shimano tcurve 5-10kg with shimano thunnus 6000. My brother was rovex carbon tec 7lb with rovex crosa 6000. (I've never heard it either) Just goes to show u don't need super expensive gear to catch good kings. (Obvious benefits if u do spend the money tho).
  8. Hey fi5hing......pretty sure I was the only person giving away free kingfish on Thursday haha. White centre console with two on board? That was me. U were on the blue boat right? For the record we hooked 8 kings at that spot, landed 3. 106cm, 103cm and 95cm. I was using 20lb braid/25 leader and my brother was 15lb braid/leader. Yes I could of landed more with heavier gear, but we were getting way more hits than any other boat and I think our lighter gear was why. Plus it was way too much fun.

    T - Tops

hey tuffy i have one of these fitted to my cc. my throttle lever just clears the support poles so no problems there. my only concern is that they are not very stiff up top. i do have the optional rod holders fitted and i find that it does wobble around a fair bit when going over any waves/chop/boat wash etc. it never feels likes its going to break or anything, its just annoying. i will be stiffening mine up with some corner brackets or cross bracing very soon as i will not be storing my boat under the carport anymore which means i dont need to have the ttop removable. the higher u can mount the clamps for the support posts the stronger it will be. i agree with dunc333 and never travel more than 80km without having a support rope at the front. i dont trust it enough. when i towed it on freeway after purchasing my boat the original canopy tore to shreds - it was pretty worn tho. i replaced it and havent had a problem since. it is def great for shade in summer and keeping the rain off but water does seep through the fabric in heavy downpours. i much prefer it to having nothing at all. and i reckon its pretty good for the price. there is nothing else out there on the market. only other option is a custom made one but the price skyrockets!!!! matt.
  11. that thing is freaking huge!!!!! well done mate.
