  1. Hi Nautica, You were assisted by the Water Police, not Marine Rescue. As a member of the Botany Bay Flotilla of marine Rescue I can assure you that the boat in the picture is not ours, but belongs to the Sans Souci Water Police. Marine Rescue do not perform safety checks but the Water Police do. Marine Rescue do not issue fines that is left to Maritime and the Water Police. With regard safety checks the Water Police have been hitting Botany Bay hard of late, and good on them; so many boats go out without the correct gear. What role does marine Rescue perform - basically we are the NRMA of the water. We assist boaties in distress and attempt to educate boaties so that every boatie comes home safe and sound. Kindest regards Brudus
  2. Hi Peter, All were caught drifting in 45 to 55 metres of water, including the tarwhine. Cheers Brudus
  3. Been a while since I have been outside so was very much looking forward to a day out. Called in to my favorite tackle shop in Kyeemagh for the latest news, tips and bait. Tuna out Browns or Morwong off Coogee, NE expected in the afternoon making Coogee the destination of choice. So filled up the bait bucket with pillies and prawns and headed off. Finished the day with a mixed bag of Morwong, flathead, pinkies, tarwhine and nannagui, eagerly shared by friends, family and the neighbours. The neighbours were kind enough to help out with the eating. As an added bonus on my return to Cooks River ramp I was met by two well dressed young fellows who identified themselves as Fisheries. Not sure if they were joking but they asked where in the bay I had been lucky.
  4. Hi Brett, I am in. I am available every Saturday except the odd occassion I am on Coastguard duty. I am a non-dinker, non-smoker, no drugs. I have my own gear I am used to reversing trailers/launching and retrieving boats I have a boat license and am well experienced I am used to handling boats off shore I have a healthy library of GPS marks However, I do not live live near Campbelltown but live at Blakehurst near Botany Bay. But can meet up just about anywhere. Regards Brudus
  5. Hi Chris, After losing a couple of sand anchors I invested in a SARCA - the only anchor you will ever need. The SARCA has been designed as an all purpose, easy retrieve anchor (great for arthritis sufferers like me), that is easy on the environment as it slides out of sand, weeds etc rather than ripping the bottom. To learn more about the SARCA simply type SARCA into google. Kindest regards
