  1. if its grindy/rough its likely that there is not enough grease on the gears. If it just feels a little tight it will loosen up the more you use it.
  2. I would be heading up into the basin and throwing blades. Blades are very effective in winter in the basin, you will catch bream, flatties, snapper and whiting. Another option is trolling around some rapala magnums or xraps for the big winter Tailor in the basin, they catch em up to 8kg. Good Luck
  3. You have to 1st work out of you want a Graphite or Glass rod. Also are you bait or lure fishing and where are you fishing?
  4. I fished the hacking this morning, headed down river to try and find some cleaner water, the water wasnt too bad first up as it was high tide but once the tide turned water was brown. Still managed 65cm flatty, lost a bigger one at the boat, 72cm kingy, 39cm bream, 36cm bream and a couple of squid. Considering the conditions I was happy with the session. All caught on plastics.
  5. Nice footage and fish mate. Could be time to invest in an environet lol, a lot easier to deal with the fish once landed.
  6. Tcurve for sure......they are an awesome blank, super light, sensitive and strong. The tcurve flight 662spin would be ideal out of a yak.
  7. Just vote Liberal they are going to put a stop to all the proposed marine parks. Its as simple as that.
  8. Hi All, I am off to Lake Macquarie this weekend for a bit of a family gathering/reunion and everyone (cousins etc) are expecting me to take them fishing as I am the only real keen fisho amoungst the group. I was hoping I could get some advise on what are some good productive areas to fish. I generally only use lures myself but for the people I will be taking fishing I think I will just get them using bait. Can anyome let me on know some good areas for bream and flathead on lures and then any other good bait fishing spots? Also is there anywhere I can pump nippers in the system. I am staying in the Swansea area. Any advise or tips on the place would be much apprecitated. Cheers Joel
  9. Thanks everybody for your advise, I will be having a good look this weekend for possible causes. Cheers
  10. I have a Quintrex 435 hornet trophy which I bought second hand about 2 years ago. The boat is a 2001 model. When I purchased the boat it had a bit of bubbling of the paint on the gunnels which I believe is possibly some sort of electrolysis. Wasnt to fussed about it and still not but just recently the boat has been taking in a bit of water so I filled the hull with water at home and was then alerted to see that on the bottom of the hull water was slowly dripping out of several little corrosive looking pin holes. Does anyone know what might be causing this??It definately looks like some sort of corrosion or something is slowly eating away at the hull. Not happy!!!!! Any help / advise would be greatly appreciated. Cheers
  11. Nice fish there is no better soft plastic for flatties than the Squidgy Fish. You need to get an enviro net, makes life so much easier and is obviously better for the fish. I love spring!!!
  12. I have seen the tyrnos combo'd with a tcurve tyrnos rod for I think it was about $550
