  1. not the first and definately wont be the last jewie taken by that method, i saw a 20kg model landed on the same rig at the entrance beach about 6 years ago and there i was with fresh tailor fillets for zilch...thats fishing. good on him though, great effort.
  2. thats a nice beach jewie and a top effort for a novice beachfisherman, and id dive on any jewie too mate
  3. they only live for about 12-18 months.
  4. the stars have a much better grip in the surf
  5. i would have to say the main difference is line capacity, overheads generaaly fit a lot more line than an eggbeater which is most important for game fishing of course.
  6. Mondo, we think alike
  7. good chance it was a jewie, but thats a thumper trevally
  8. im not too familiar with the bwaters system but they go right up cowan so i dont see why they wouldnt go up brissy waters.
  9. my guess would be hairtail, they take the bait ever so slowly until you have them hooked.and no its not too early for them.

  11. to see kids enjoying fishing is priceless, i love taking my nephews and nieces fishing...one nephew in particular got a 65cm jew the first time i took him out, he still reminds me of it. btw, be carefull kissing those tailor, they have a nasty habit of chomping anything that gets close and it hurts.

hi raiders, ive got a Abu 7000 overhead (dark blue) thats about 10 years old but from memory only used it about half a dozen times. The drag has become extremely sticky (i probably left the drag screwed up all those years ago) and i was just wondering if there is an upgrade kit available for them cause id like to start using it again. appreciate any advice. cheers.
