  1. The nitro distance spin or the lox snapper would do the job.

    Egi Rods

    Egi Rods

Has anyone had any experience with the japanese Egi rods? They're designed for squid but i was thinking of getting one for use on kings. The only thing I'm not sure about is it's power. Cheers, Will
  4. i'm pretty sure it's the UK equivalent of a Tierra
  5. if you're getting the lox make sure you get the shortest one. I had the 7'6 and it needed a 270g+ reel to balance properly, your twinpower probably weights 200g or less so it'd be evey more tip heavy!
  6. I would go for the sol, the sustain 2500 FE is aparently not that much better than a stradic and you have to pay an extra $100 or so.
  7. i had a flick last weekend with no takes, it was low tide but i don't think that makes much of a difference
  8. never caught one in botany, but it's the reason i avoid the hawkesbury!
  9. for a graphite rod off the rocks there aren't a huge number of options available under $100 (assuming you want to split your $200 evenly). Maybe have a look at the starlo stix shorespin? it's around that price and is graphite and fibreglass composite. I think it's also only 9ft as well. The cheapest full graphite rod I can think of at 12ft is the Daiwa Heartland at $180. From there you have the Nitro Sniper 10' at $330, Daiwa Emblem Pro at $270+ depending on length. As for the reel have a look at the Sienna/Sedona/Sahara. High ratio which is good for spinning and within your price range.
  10. blades are an expensive way to catch tailor, just use a metal slice!
  11. thanks for circling the areas, now i know what to look for
  12. great pics ray, i'm just a bit confused as to exactly where the gutter is in the second photo, is it the big gap? where would you cast when you locate the gutter? straight into the middle or around the edges? if its not too much trouble can someone circle the areas in the second photo where you would cast? Cheers, Will
  13. Hi all, I'm heading up there in a months time and I was hoping to get an idea of some good places to fish and bait to use? I'll be landbased and am interested in somewhere safe to cast a line for bream, flathead, whiting etc. I wouldn't mind fishing off the beach or off the rocks (if there's a safe place to do so). So if anyone has some pointers, please let me know! Cheers, Will
  14. thanks for the advice guys! i've thought about stinger hooks, looks like trebles are the way to go? i went out and bought some poppers so looking forward to giving them a go! as for my sp technique; i don't know about that hahaha might not get any bites at all if i switch to a true plastic!
  15. too bad about the pickers! what reel have you got on the seajigger?
