  1. hi mate the marlin are on the bit at browns mountain and surrounding areas you can head out from either syd or botany its about 45kms off shore. The last hookup we had there was on trolling skirts pink and purple the real catcher. Some times they may be a little finickiy so if you have a good sounder on board look for bait balls [drive very slowly in such deep water its hard to locate them on your sounder] once you find them drop the 6 hook feathered bait rig to the right depth. Try sending a slimmy on heavy gear back down. And if still no luck try trooling live baits, work with the currents not against them and you must troll them very very slowly to prevent them from dieing. Good luck guys i hope you and dad catch a marlin.
  2. Hi fishos i just got back from p.s. On a 6 meter boat, biggest mahi mahi landed was a 13kg and a stripe marlin about 100kg just got him on the last day. what a relief cause my two mates moe and dogan drove from vic to syd to p.s. You might have watched them on the E T fishing show back in early january. If anyone heading out there head to the carpark about 45kms off shore the water conditions are looking good and the fish even better there is so much marlin out there some boats had double hookups. ill try to post some pics but cant work out why i cant post can anyone help. cheers ray
  3. gday mate my name is ray i rekon im almost as keen as you for a trip to browms unfortunatley my 6m boat is not on the water this season. its a shame with the marlin season coming on. anyway mate if you do have room on your boat one day id love to be on board. im aware of running costs especially to browns. If necessary i can provide 2x80s 2x50s 2x30s gimbles harnes and lures more importantly is the great lunch bag my wife prepares. looking forward for a fish. RAY 0416 455 444.

  5. Hi guys, spent last week at Port Phillip Bay, Victoria. Two days landed 11 snapper from 4kg to 7.5kg in only 30 feet of water, didnt do as well as last year as i do this trip every year.
  6. hi fishos a few pics to see. last weekend i spent with my bro nick and 2 mates moe and con in vic doing what they do best tracing big snapper in port phillip bay only 30ft of water. In two days we landed 11 snapper ranging from 4kg to 7.5kg. what a great experience as i do it every year in december.
  7. sorry for the late reply. The berly mix works everytime. Usally on our way to the boat ramp of an early mornin we stop at any bakery as they open around 4 am we buy yesterdays large bread sack for around 2 dollars. At any bait shop you can buy a bag of prawn berly [yellow in colour] for around 4 dollars. in a old esky i fill a qarter water half of the bread sack the yellow prawn berly and half a block pillies chopped with scissors very fine letem soak for 2-3 minutes and enjoy the big cloud it causes under your boat
  8. sorry guys i dont have any pics for that session but will be more prepared nextime sorry guys no pics for this session but will be better prepared nextime.
  9. hi fishos after reading all your reports i just had to get out there. my mate moe from victoria and another mate con. we were on the water approx 6:30 am ther were several boats on both wedding cake markers many of them putting the hard yards in catching live bait. a little while later boat after boat took off and headed to the yellow marker close to north head. we didnt have much succes at the cakes or cliffton gardens. moe suggested to head to the same yellow marker on arrival not much was happening with the others. we droped our frozen baits and my secret weapon my special formulated berly. in minuetes all three rods screemed landed all and again sent them out this time within seconds all three again and again after landing 8 it just died we sat for an hour or so nothing happen i felt for all those other boaties as they watched us yelling and screemig no other boat landed any fish during that time. well i guess thats just fishing. good luck to all its gonna be a great weekend with plentty of fish
