With regard to the Harrington BAR, would not even think about it, although I have not been outside there I have been going there for the past 7 years and would not reccomend it to my mother. It's well worth the short drive further on to Crowdy head and the ramp there adjacent the Fish Co-op, probably one of the best you will find. There is a sheltered cove there and spits you straight out into open water.

Morning all, I am off on my annual pilgrimage North next week, heading to Manning Point as the base camp and looking to drag the boat further north to Crowdy Head for a couple of day trips outside only so we can call back past the Harrington Pub for a cleansing ale and a feed on the way home. In the past we have had little success other than at Farquar outlet off the bank and driving the beach looking for gutters. Is anyone able to provide info or some tips on where we might try either in the river or out from Crowdy? Greetings all, My name is John, I'm 48 and Live on the top end of the Central Coast and like many up here in God's country, make the commute to Sydney every day.I've been a member since 2008 but have been a little hesitant on posting, but that is going to change. Just invested in my 11th boat, Yes, 11th I hear you say...not all at once. It's a Trailcraft 5.8 Sports Cab, handed the dollars over at approx 11.00am, Friday 11th November, 2011, wife favourite number is.......11. Hence the name of the new boat, "Eleven". Been fishing since I could walk, we grew up on the Hawkesbury. Now days mainly into catch and release regardless of size, get more of a buzz watching them swim away with the picture on my camera, I like to call it fishing for tomorrow, not for today. Anyways, married almost 27 years to a lovely lady that actually encourages me to spend money on my boat...not she is not for sale, and 2 fabulous son's 23 & 21 who also love fishing. I cant make it this weekend but the weather gods and wife boss permitting next Saturday I am heading out from Swansea. I take it from Noodles reply staying within 2 ks is the best? Let us know how you get on Barsam, will be looking for your report.

I was out fishing in the lake today and was amazed to see a seal swim past then hang around for half an hour or so playing around near the chanel markers at the drop off. Has anyone else seen seals in the lake, this was a first for me, have fished the area for the last 5 years or so.
