hi, apparently they are catching some bass there these days as well , you have to pay at the caretakers/kiosk area (10-$15 for a car +boat I think) to use the lake but it is all well sign posted and access easy once you cross dam wall about 8-10 kms from highway turnoff at lithgow

Buy the hooked on paradise book from most newsagents google earth like maps of most of nsw coast, lake mac in there and all names of bays etc are overlayed on them good tool when used with sites like this that are so helpful Wardy

have a van at entrance but head up to lake mac for a fish last 3 times i,ve been up. Found the channel to be overcrowed and over rated (just my opinion though) north of pulbah island you will find some cardinal markers and drifting this area landed bream flatties + whiting . chain valley bay to south ok as well . beautiful spot put my boat in at cams warf so same area as you mentioned caught some small snapper along this western shore line just under legal. wardy

thanks for posting your report i took my kids to port hacking for the first time for all of us. Put in at grays point after fishing most of upper bays found spot in your photo as headed further east after no real action kids started to get bored . didnt anchor as you guys did just drifted between the points land about 20 pinkys 25 cm plus only 3 over 30cm but 33,35,37cm but that was enough for a feed so was more than happy thanks for your post as it helped make my day
