  1. Good point Trapper Tom, yep, we caught a few in a hand net and ate a few Barra as well
  2. Dene and I spent a great week up at Bynoe late in April. The pelagics were on fire with Dene holding on to a few 16lb GTs with the spin gear, I was smoked by a couple on the 9wt, and plenty of big Queenies willing to play. My best Queenie was a 90cm - 15lb model on the 7wt. 14 species on the fly for the week with about 40 Barra between us. The Barra were a bit dopy, if you didn't put the fly or lure within 6 inchs of their nose they didn't bother looking at it. I haven't got around to putting a vid together yet so here's the trailer. And a few pics This one really hurt Dene My big Queenie on the 7wt
  3. Top sport Kel! Light tackle fishing doesn't get much better than that. Bennoz, get yourself a kayak mate. They'd be well within reach with a leisurely paddle, low cost with no rego or petrol and you get fit at the same time.
  4. Yes mate, week before and after. I'll get in touch a little closer to xmas Cheers Rod
  5. Great work Nick. We might have to coax Evan out again over Xmas and go for a Fly Paddle A 50cm Bass is awesome in that water
  6. Great work fellas As I was reading it I had a sense of dé·jà vu so I did a quick search. Looks like the time of year for big flatties in Tuross July 20, 2008 report Not sure what happened in 2009 though? Geez, it must have been cold if you're pulling out hats like that Dene
  7. Awe Bloody Hell guys, that's amazing. What a fantastic session and what a sight it must have been. You live in paradise!
  8. A new definition for the Double Hookup Skip! 2 Tailor on one popper, classic! Nice lizard too mate. Happy birthday Dene, all the best mate.
  9. Great read Skip. I'm looking forward to a few days up there over Xmas.
  10. NOICE! Well done gents, some absolute crackers!
  11. Noyhing better than oufishing the Old Man Well done Tessa
  12. TDH, It's a Buff with 30+ sun protection. Made for the very hot southern american states. It was a bit too much when the humidity got very high, but most of the time I didn't really notice it. I wore it over my face most of the time and the only day I got sunburn was when I didn't take it out.
  13. Thanks all, we did have a great time. I think that Barra knew we were filming him
  14. Just thought I'd post a few pics of our trip to Bynoe. Dene fished lures and I fished fly with great success. Here's the vids: And some pics Dene's 78cm as seen in the "Barra Boof at Bynoe" vid A bit of blue water action And my first Threadfin on fly
  15. Nice work as usual Skip How did Dene go after a week at Aurukun? Did he pull their heads off on the strike or has he already adjusted? Where is the Aurukun report by the way???
