  1. 4 is robert de niro in meet the fockers
  2. yeah those blades have got me keen to try them as well. well done on the catch mate
  3. i'm land based so only fish standing on the weir itself, although we have been doing some exploring and found a few spots we would like to throw a canoe or yak in below the weir, its impossible from land from what we can see. we actually found a very nice spot which we are pretty sure is relatively untouched so will spend some more time exploring it - had a lot of interest following our lures on the weekend but no takes. i will let you know if it turns out what we think it will
  4. nice flatty mate.....well done on getting your first on plastics. i must be the only left to not have caught anything on sps yet. might have to pull the finger out and give them another crack
  5. we have caught a few (3) bass to 30cms at the weir but most of them are in 10-20cm size range especially the really small ones have been quite aggressive on our surface lures.
  6. thats done it for me i'm definitely doing a barra trip next year. was gonna take the missus to perth but she can go on a cruise with her mates now
  7. it will be good to hear your report swordfisherman i've been umming and ahhing over a trip to glenbawn. hopefully you will bring back some good news. to all the other raiders all the best hope the fish are on. as for me probably just a quick flick thursday night at the weir and probably down wollongong for a beach session (fingers crossed) this weekend. if not, i'll console myself with some of fishing dvds and some mothers milk
  8. filthy germs mate. hopefully you'll get your gear back, however unlikely that is
  9. great shots there that mako looks mighty p*&*ed off. those big eyes are a bit freaky looking
  10. great results mate. i've always wanted to get down to tassie and see what its like.
  11. nice bream mate. it'd be great to have your own little patch on the water
  12. mate stand on the lower ledge of the weir (right behind you in the pic) and use surface lures at night back over the weir (towards the rowing club). the bass love them there and will often hit them just as the lure comes back over the weir to you, they seem to panic and think they'll miss out. also cast into where you were fishing for mullet every now then just to give the bass up top a break from looking at your lure. watch out for some young blokes standing on top of the weir as they have this very frustrating habit of shining torches into the water and they seem to shut down after that....your best bet when these clowns come along is to either go home or get on top and join them because you'll need to cast further out as the bass will vacate the area close to the weir. so grab some thongs and get your feet wet and get amongst it mate. good luck
  13. well done mate you helped me lose my bass virginity on monday night and now helping another mate out. champion bloke. i know you said you get dirty if you don't catch 20 squid but ten is not a bad catch mate. cheers bluedog
  14. good effort mate and used your melon to good effect coming up with the downrigger
