  1. Hey Steve Good to see you are still alive, sorry you did not land the last big one its a shame you did not get to see what make modle it was. I have been out to avalon a few times but only managed a few sharks, nothing big.Have you been getting any squid from PB of late...and hey congrats on the little one hope all is going well on your side. I going to be fishing Avalon again this week so if you want to join me let me know. cheers Wayne
  2. Hey thanks lads for the heads up this makes me feel allot better, was getting worried for a moment do you know if you get Spanish mac there?I dont think the boat ramps can get worse than sydney on a sunday morning.
  3. Ha S£$%T that dont sound so good big flies no fish ???not too phased about a bar if the was one launch my boat in south Africa from the beach all the time in big surf ,so the bar should not be anything new.But concerned about the lack of fishing news, down that end of the world.
  4. hi all i will be moveing to Queensland in June and was wondering if anyone knows much about morton bay and the fishing there, what fish one can find and the area.Do you cross a bar to go out to sea?
  5. Hi there thanks for the info i will go fishing just about anyware but will mostly be going out on my boat,so pffshore and any where one can fish on a boat. cheers
  6. Hi all Im am moving from sydney to the Sunshine coast north of Brisbane at the middle of this year.Over the past months have got to know the good fishing areas in Sydney well but know nothing about North coast. can anyone give me some info about fishing round Brisbane? Im going to live in North lakes 50km north of Brisbane.I have a boat so will be fishing offshore. Thanks Wayne
  7. Relly nice fish and good on the new boat where you just trolling lures or bait? And what kind? cheers
  8. Hey Saltrix Did you try the marker with SP at NH? man they been getting plenty of small king there.
  9. Hi All As the weather looks father Sh!££$$ for the boat this weekend was wondering if any one would like to team up and do some land based fishing some where around the harbour or Pittwater area.Perhaps SP and some fly fishing, not excluding a live bait. I have only been fishing from my boat so some one who is rather familiar with the area would be good. PM me if anyone is keen. Cheers Wayne
  10. Hi Mate sure looking rather S!££$y man i was looking forward to a fish with the fly stick on those small kings,Well will be doing some casting practice instead. cheers.
  11. Yep I think its time to upgrade to SS rod holders thanks for the advice.....lads cheers wayne Hi Ceph man if it went for a swim I would have been in after it .....believe me but will upgrade the holders..Did you lose your Stella?
  12. Hi all as there are so many kings about I love my fly fishing and really am going to make a trip out this week only with the fly rod, will take the 9wt and the big gun 12wt just incase there are some bigger models around. Witch flies work best for the kings I take anything white in color and do you use a sinking line or floating? Can anyone give me some pointers of where to go besides the most common places like the marker buoys. Thanks Wayne
  13. Hi all after seeing all the reports of all the Kings around decided to hit the harbor on Saturday.got the family up at 4:30am and off to Rosevill ramp,Got there and shit man 100 boats already out going to be a busy day looking for places to find fish where there has not been anyone before you. Well did the usual found some bait and off to the channel markers to look for the kings on SP... One look around and all you see are boats and more boats around all the favorite markers .OK so we join them.Well went to all the spots looking for anything but not a king to be found tried SP of all make size and colour..but nothing SO what now..it was really hot and my little ones wanted to go for a swim,so off to a beach near manly anchor the boat up and we all go for a swim for an hour or so. After a good lunch and a swim we are geared up to find those Kings,Off to middle harbor we go,But the weather is changing and a rather hectic Southerly is starting to blow the shit out of the place. Stopped in Middle harbor and put the first squid down on a small sinker ,loaded the other rod with a yakker and off we go start trolling between the moorings. We had not gone 50m when off goes the squid grab the rod and the fight is on I get the wife to steer the boat, shit off goes the other rod now the wind is blowing at 40km the wife is stressed out as the boat is a mission to control I have one rod in one hand and the other I give to my 4 year old and tell him to wind lad and don't let the rod go.. supporting the little guy and keeping my fish away from all the other lines and boat moorings was real mission. After some frantic boat manoevering and serious pulling we landed both kings.. my son was overjoyed his first king. This was the start of what turned out to be 14 kings landed and only on lost. All were released to fight another day.Total tally me 10, kiegan 2,wife 2 so all had a go even the Little 2 year old got to reel one in with my help, don't want Stella's to take a swim.. So we all had a great day cant wait for the next time. king were all 60-70cm no big ones but really good fun.Want to find them and try the fly rod on my next trip. Cheers Wayne
  14. Hey nice boat Rob what make is it....nice king too on SP.
  15. Thanks Ross may go there this weekend.Do you know what other fish species you could find in the river. cheers Wayne
