I caught one last year just a bit smaller at Flint and Steal. Rare catch here!

My tip is watch every fishing show on tv and watch what they do. Jig size, lure size, line size, let it sink, whip, pull, wind fast, slow etc. Keep watching and you learn new little tricks. Just keep trying! You will get nothing for months and months then all of a sudden you will get one and then they keep coming! It took me months and months to ever get one. Now I pretty much only use lures and always get at least one. I think at first you are just too keen and not relaxed and wind and pull too hard. It can also be the spot. I never have any luck in the middle and only on the edges. Sometimes I wonder why I have a boat haha.

Hello I know it's not recommended but I've been lucky with mono and braid. I normally keep it for at least 5 year and I have never had any issues! It could be just luck! I sometimes cut off 30 odd metres also to keep it fresh haha. I guess a caveat to this. I care for my rods and reals very well, wash and keep out of the sun while in storage. thanks

The mechanics told me if you can have the water just below the centre cap where the bearings are your wheels will last a lot longer. A 4.3m boat is easy to do this but this one might be too big. The less water on your trailer and electrics the better.

I have a handheld but they are super annoying! They work fine but don't have the same rang as fixed. The issues are the battery dies quick especially after about a year. Then when you go to use it, the thing is probably not charged. Or was charged but they wear down pretty quick.

I went on a couple of Charters with him years ago. Such a nice and funny guy. When the fishing went quiet he would break out his guitar and jam. RIP fishing friend.

Keep trying! Could try one size up on the hook and slightly bigger bait, sometimes works. Even try move out slightly deeper. You're doing it right to catch fish. Just have to luck the spot. I generally move a bit if I catch a heap of little ones as they seem to hang together. Good luck!
