  1. Try switching to mono for the baitrunner I was told they don't hold braid too well.
  2. mate we were changing all day, but the big fish took larger longer jigs then when they were thick the smaller jigs worked a treat. Mainly blues and darker colours were more successful. Good luck
  3. Gday Raiders Went for a jigging session on friday off terrigal, got the day off work and conditions were pretty good. No wind but the water was a little dirty and very cold. The kings were pretty quite in the morning, but there were plenty of big bonnies keeping us busy. Around 10am we moved areas to try and find what we were looking for. So right on que first drop im on, its a good fish that hit hard on the way up, fishing with 80 pound braid and a 6500 saltiga very tight on the drag this fish had no problem peeling line off, 30-40m on the first run. What an awesome feeling nothing you can do but hold on and hope it stops before the reef. She finally stops and the fish is on the way up. Backed off the drag a little at this stage as this is definitely my pb king and would hate to lose her now. 10 minutes later shes on board! 110 cm of fat king! Woo Hooo! Still in shock I was content with my catch I was hardly fishing. The boys though were still on the hunt. Another change of area and 2 hours later, we start jigging again. My mate right next me hooks up, he's on a top fish and its taking him for a run. We clear all the lines so he can run around the boat and follow the fish. 15 minutes later after an awesome tussel he is starting to look a little faint, Cmon mate keep goin we're all yelling! Out comes the net and second swipe shes in! A very healthy 111cm king. Smiles and cheers all round! Then it started to heat up a little more we were finding better patches of kings on the sounder. Everyone starts hooking up! mainly rats but a few keepers in the bunch. This was awesome fun with everyone catching. A top day off terrigal with the sydney boys leading the charge. Cheers Happy Fishing
  4. mate I think the difference between them is the length of the arm and the wire. sorry to hear about the theft.
  5. Gday raiders.. Im about to buy a fish finder for my tinny. I mainly fish the harbour and was wondering if anyone had any advice on which fish finder is working well. Looking at spending around $300. There seem to be only two that suit my price range, the eagle fishmark 320 or the hummingbird matrix 12. Are there any other options?? Appreciate any advice cheers Vinni
  6. Well done mate! Hope those panadols fixed you up. Congrats on your first king.. even better on a hangover! prob see you at there again.. vinni
  7. Well done mate on a top catch! I was thinking of fishing the bay this weekend as the harbour has slowed down a bit. I have never fished the bay before.. are there main areas i should be fishing for the kings? and could you recommend a good boat ramp? cheers mate any info would be great.. Vinni
  8. lol they are some big skinny kings mate.. tell your mate dougy well done on a nice catch. Hitting the water again tomorrow searching for these elusive monsters..
  9. Gday guys.. Had a top day on the water today with a couple of mates.. on the water by 6.. straight to balmoral to collect some livies and back in to middle harbour by 8.. Baits down and 2 hours till the top of the tide things were looking good. With in 30min we had our first fun and and nice king in the esky. She went 70cm High fives all round but straight back into it. Baits down.. waiting.. waiting.. When BANG 2 lines go sreaming off 1x Shimano tld2000 charter special and 1x Shimano baitrunner 4500 at the same time double hook up! Its like music listering to those drags run.. a good 10 minute fight till we see colour when the fish cross up and make a couple of darting runs when SNAP! We manage to get one in the boat and but were dissappointed we lost the other. This one was 74cm and nice and fat. They slowed up after that so we went and got some lunch a couple of six packs and enjoyed the feeling of coming home with some fish..Definately off to get both my reels geared up with some braid ready for the weekend! Looking forward to a hot season they have def made a good start.. Sorry no pics. Vinni
