  1. Hope she does mate hahahah Can't stand her.
  2. Not something I've done but I caught my sister in law "servicing" her old Corolla a few years a go by draining the oil and getting the hose ready to put water in the engine to "wash the engine out" before putting new oil in. lol. I got there just as she pulled the hose up to the oil intake. (Saved her car) The wife and I were stunned, but she did prove to me what I've always suspected. No brains lol. Wife agreed for once.
  3. Do you guys get the feeling like we just have a shortage of decent Jetties in Sydney to fish off? I know we have our ferry wharf's (most are no fishing) and the odd small jetty like Clifton but we really lack big long jetties to fish of, specifically built for fishing. I spent a good part of my life in South Australia when I was younger, fishing off piers such as this; https://50greatdives.com/listing/rapid-bay-jetty/ Rapid Bay https://villasonthebeach.com/jetty-wallaroo/ Wallaroo https://www.google.com/search?q=victor+harbour+jetty&client=firefox-b-d&sxsrf=ACYBGNSeBCFzD98DOl0AspxL73RppjnG7g:1579750392440&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwiymObn5JjnAhX36XMBHZtxBoAQ_AUoAnoECBwQBA&biw=1682&bih=724#imgrc=-ldfYdwEvczF_M Victor Harbour And many more. Even Victoria has decent piers that stretch out a mile. https://www.google.com/search?q=mordialloc+pier&client=firefox-b-d&sxsrf=ACYBGNQne9t51Fyc0gh0P116x_g9AdCKZg:1579750692354&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjUyef25ZjnAhVEH7cAHaeQAFoQ_AUoAnoECBIQBA&biw=1682&bih=724#imgrc=tXrxCSWcqo_KYM I was heavily involved in fishing back then due to these piers. Since moving to Sydney in 97 I've just lost the passion. Small ferry wharf's with no fishing signs, land based spots fished out, pier 5 shut down now, snobby people shunning us fisho's for fishing their local piers and having a sook to the authorities at any chance. We have a few piers here and there but nothing significant in my opinion and even if we do they are shut off to the public. (ie: Port Kembla) All those Jetty's shown above are facing the open ocean and open to the public. I feel miserable here. I want my kids to enjoy these type of piers but we are out of luck. How do you guys feel about this?
  4. Thanks for that. I'll probably park on the street and walk down. Only have a RWD Estate wagon lower than normal height.
  5. OHHHH I see now lol God I'm such a buffoon lol. It's confusing cause I couldn't see the road on google earth due to the tree line... So don't turn right into the residential cul-de sac road, keep going and it's on the right. Mate that's awesome, thank you for the info. Kids will love this. I've been wanting to take them there for a swim and fishing for a while. Our plan is to take some worms, prawns, and nippers. Hopefully they can catch something. I'll be throwing a few SP's around... and dealing with the kids off course.
  6. Hi All, I'm taking my 2 boys (10 and 8 ) fishing on Friday. We plan on hitting Audley Weir first, followed by Swallow Rock boat ramp and we want to finish up at Gymea baths for a fish and swim. Just one silly question how do you get down to the baths? Where do you park your car? last time I went to have a look by car, I couldn't figure it out so I drove off. I've attached an image for reference. (I'm guessing you walk through the bush where I've marked in blue? is this right?) Can I park on the street where the pic is taken from? Cheers.
  7. Bait boats have been used for ages, but in the chop they are pretty much useless. (I had one before the drone.) You could always go for this Splashdrone https://cubox.com.au/products/splashdrone-3-plus?utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=google&utm_campaign=Google Shopping&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIva-I1a7C4gIVlY6PCh02pwoZEAQYAyABEgIypvD_BwE Waterproof as well. With the Gannet and thick braid you could pull it back in in my opinion.
  8. Never caught one at night, but very early in the morning they seem to be everywhere in my experience. (before and after the sun is up)
  9. You should be ok with the Gannet release system, just got to install heavier braid to pull it back in if it falls. Reason I say braid is its so thin you can fit a lot more line on your spool. These DJI drones can take your line 5-7 clicks out. Just make sure you turn off the collision avoidance sensors on the drone before lifting off with your bait or the line + bait can hinder the path you fly. Finally, I tend to take the bait out, drop it in the water and hit the return home button asap, while it returns I take the slack up on the reel and then catch the drone and switch it off to save battery power... reel easy. Good luck.
  10. Yeah mate, I do this often, but only on family trips away from Sydney as we are quite limited as to where I can use the Drones here. $900-$9000 fines can be given out if you don't comply with the CASA maps. https://www.casa.gov.au/aircraft/standard-page/can-i-fly-there-drone-safety-app The app is more detailed, download and have a look @ the map. It's pretty much a blanket flying ban all over Sydney. (bloody ridiculous) First time I tried it I lost the Mavic Air. It cut out mid flight, dropped to the water about 200m out. I had a cheap release system I made myself (coat hanger). I lost that one, it was too far out. ($900 down the drain) I have the Mavic Pro now with more lifting power and a Gannet payload Release. I should of got the Phantom 4 to get bigger baits out there but stuff paying 3k for that risk. I also use heavier braid so if it ever fell in the water, I should be able to reel it back in with the gannet holding the line in place and try my luck with DJI warranty / insurance for a new one. You do catch better fish, the investment is well worth it.
  11. For sure. My son came home upset on Friday from School he is 9. Told me "Is fishing now banned dad"? I said no, he was happy. Apparently his friend told him it wad banned now. Sad stuff.
  12. All this lockout BS has shown me one thing and that's the method Greenies use to get their message across. The days of protesting on the streets with flowers and sandals are gone. They have infiltrated government now, using authority to ban all the activities we enjoy. We fisho's are too soft, we still have the "She'll be right mentality" we should up in their faces.
  13. Awesome. I was convinced they worked, when my old man and I picked up 30 rat kings on them at longy a few years ago. Just on jerk shad sp's. Amazing product.
  14. Hi Gents, I've been out of the tackle world for so long so not sure what I should be looking for these days. Looking for an all rounder, big fish rod that will serve the following purposes; -Rock fishing, Beach fishing, Boat fishing - Big enough to cast far, but not as big as a surf rod and small enough to fit in an Estate Wagon. Prefer 2 piece but 1 is ok. Also looking to match it up with a 8000 size reel. I want this reel to hold up against big kings, as a NZ trip is lined up next year. Prefer one with 2 spools. Shimano or Daiwa prefered. What do you guys recommend? Budget - Rod - $100-150 Reel - 300-350 max. Cheers.
  15. Teraglin sure do look a lot like jews. Awesome report. Looks like I will need to do some sounding before hitting a spot next time.
