  1. YUMMmm!!! Great Catch, Great Feed
  2. Sorry to hear mate. Hope you catch the fish that ran away with it. I lost mine a while back. Thought, well the fish must have not taken it far?? Tied on 2 heavy sinkers to a heavy line. Threw out the line with a slow retrieve, after the 4th cast up comes my rod and reel! and a bonus, the bream was still on the line
  3. Hmmmm..... Maybe should create a Facebook page to name and shame these guys. Take their snaps with the "big catch", upload it and tag them
  4. Hi Guys, I've caught the occasional black fish on prawn, but never on weed\cabbage. So its time to step up and give it a go. I've spent hours in the last few days up down Panania\ Milperra, unfortunately nothing. Does anyone know if the stringy weed is in plenty at the moment? Would really appreciate if someone could PM a spot or a ruff area where I can get a handful of weed close to Panania\ Milperra\ Liverpool area... Will keep it a secret Cheers

    Outboards

Hi, New to boating, thought the best way is to start with something small and cheap, just incase I break it got myself a 10ft tinny and a 3.5hp. The 3.5 I have just doesn't pull it through a fast current on a windy day. I'm in the market looking for a cheap second hand 5HP outboard or a cheap new one. Has anyone used a Vortex or Parsun outboard? how are they compared to any other branded outboard? Cheers
  10. Listening to the news saying there is sewerage in the water, I thought fantastic burley! Bags packed for flatty session, we headed down south away from the sewerage(hopefully). When we got there, the water was dirty.. but fished it anyway. At the low tide turn the water was clean again. Bloodworm Wriggler on and not even a nibble. Disappointed I turned to prawns and they seemed to be gun pulling in quality breams. A few undersized snapper, breams and 3 rays.. they all went back, but sadly not one flatty

Hi, Wondering if there a fishraider group on facebook? Cheers
  15. I said rain or no rain Im going fishing yesterday early morning. We packed up and head down south Port Kembla way. Weather was beautiful, no wind, no rain, swell good as well.. but about 5mins later the wind picked up and so did the rain! It was very quiet as others struggled to land many fish. As first light turned my rod bent at the sound of a nice tailor. After the tailor it got very quiet with a few undersized bream realised. I was fishing and chatting to another guy on how quiet fishing is today. He said it's very quiet indeed…and started to pack his things, he said you are most likely not gonna catch a salmon until sunset. I pull my rod back checking for hope and bang!! My reel screams! As so as it screams our lines cross … grrrr.. and Im left with not much of a choice but try to untangle it or risk the fish. Eventually we got the line free. I started to pull the fish and notice that it is under the rocks!! I move left, right to loose the line. My brain has a flash back and I recall someone saying to give the line some slack. I released some line out and in about 5mins the fish came out. Now Im in business' I said and I pull in a Salmon just touching 60cms.. what a good fight and a fishing lesson learnt A question I have is, does anyone know to safely release fish from the rocks without endangering your own life?
  16. awesome catch mate! was this on the run-in or run-out?
  17. Nice catch man!! Never tried plastics there at night?? Can I ask what sort of plastics you use? I use prawns mostly there... You're right about the rubbish, people should clean up after they are done.
  18. Next we'll only be allowed to use hand lines
  19. Hey Guys, I fish mostly landbased. I've also recently gotten into catching my own bait and gained alot of excitement in doing so I've tried to catch poddy mullet at Chipping Norton and Windang with no luck... Does anyone know any in good locations in Chipping Norton\Windang? If you don't want to share with everyone, pls PM me. Would really appreciate it! Thanks!
  20. My mate calls up says, we gotta catch some sun and head out as the water is starting to warm and swell's pretty good. We drove down to Wollongong and setup for a morning session. Me being a very recent convert to lures got my metals and said some motivational words "my beer gut's gonna get a workout and my back gotta want a chiro at the end of the day" The morning was slow and I thought, "this casting is gotta hurt tonight, better be worth a catch" . Looking over my shoulder, pillies and squid ain't working wonders for others on the rocks. Giving up for a breaky time, Bang! I'm on and she digs deep.. the swell picks up and I step back(my life more important than a fish ) Then I recalled; why did we forget to bring a landing net or a gaff.. I tried to bring it up the ledge, it jumped and waved goodbye.. The next 1-2 hrs the fish came steady, sadly no hooks up. The tide changed. About 1\2 hr later...as the lure got the edge of the rock, we're on! Tailor.. and a short fight and he's in the bucket, then another and another. Not greedy one was kept for the dinner plate. From there it was pretty quite until we decided home time, I said 2 more minutes and amazing how this happens.. Bang! we're on another sambo.. this one is for lunch! We tried for another 1hr, nothing.. bored and no bait.. I put a hook with weed and throw it in.. and I'm on a drummer Got a pic of the Sambo and Tailor both around the 55-60 mark... another fun day out
  21. Yummy!.. I had mud crab in a thai red curry a while ago.. really good.. nice catch mate.
