  1. Hi Raiders, We were outside drifting around Kurnell Car Park and the Hump yesterday morning, managed some nice Mowies and Flathead. We packed up around 12:30 to cruise in, as we came within a k or so of the south head we were surrounded by a large school of dolphins making their way east (Flipper type) . We turned a followed them for around 2ks as they swam and played around us, it was the most amazing site . May have been playing inside the bay they came from the heads? Hope someone else caught a view, we did pass close to another boat about 3ks out from the south head, what an amazing place the Bay is
  2. Rob, I have a 2007 etech 115 on my rig, just had its first full service (3yrs) cost me $520.00 I love the thing, super reliable, cheap as chips to run and pushes my quinny 540 very nicely I think fishmaniac is spot on, you may require some more grunt for a 6.1 plate. Good luck mate, cheers
  3. Sorry to hear mate, no respect no regard, time that some of the laws and consequences were changed in this great country of ours. My etech came with "DATA DOT DNA" a microscopic set of serial numbers that you apply with a swab in specific locations on the motor for identification, I also applied this to the trailer and boat and photographed and recorded the locations. It is undetectable unless you know the site and use a powerful magnifying glass to read the serial numbers. This information is critical when identifying stolen goods even if they are broken down for parts, were you able to do the same with yours? The lads and I will watch carefuly for your rig, if sited I can assure you that you will be the second to know. Good Luck
  4. Well said Huey spot on as usual, I still think best bang for my buck agree with the sun block crack by Slinky .
  5. Hi champ just a quicky, how much oil do you use I have a 115 etech and I have forgotten where the oil tank is, hardly spit in it. Just a query as too why you use so much? Cheers:1beer:
  6. Mate, Too many quality fish out there. This bloke falls into the boil a brick and the fish in the same pot story. When the brick turns red add sauce, toss the fish away and go your hardest at the brick, it taste better. live and let live with these blokes and any other catch we dont really need to keep.
  7. JBS2 - Jade,Belinda,Sarah - the second boat named JBS after my three girls.
  8. Nathen, Go to page 5 and look at the posts in relation to canopies, there may be some ideas to assist you.
  9. Slink, I use what the shop called a "fisherman's anchor", it has a similar type action as the Sarca where the chain is connected to a ring that travels along and around a bar that enables you to pull the anchor up from different angles (tail or head first if stuck). It cost me $50.00 from one of the larger boating and marine warehouses. I have had the anchor for twelve months, fished sand and reef inshore and out wider and have not had any probs, at the price stated I believe i have done well already. Cheers
  10. Poacher, Hi mate I have a 115 Etech looks exactly the same bud, its perfect. That's the way its suppose to be , enjoy the motor and your leisure time.
  11. Nice one champ seem to be a few around at the moment
  12. [quote name='TheDon' date='10 August 2010 - 01:49 PM' timestamp='1281412174' Sounds like an awesome day. I've seen lots of reports of people doing well drifting around that area lately. I'm new to boating and only just learning how to drift properly. Do you mind if I ask what bait you were using and can anyone recommend how to rig up the line for a drift in open waters? Cheers The Don Hi mate, Jay1979 is spot on, we use a two hook paternoster rig with lumo beads at each hook this is sent down with a snapper sinker on the bottom. The weight of the sinker depends on many things including water depth, drift speed (wind) and line gauge. Yesterday we used size 5 snappers in the morning but ended up using threes as the wind eased. We were using bottle squid and fresh prawns.
  13. Big smile big fish well done mate
