  1. If only you caught that on sunday for the Pirtek fishing challenge. That would have been hard to beat.
  2. Hey mate, its been a while since ive heard kings that big in sydney, well done. Any caught downrigging?
  3. Hi damien, Can you send me what dates are available and costs. There are 4 of us. Cheers Jason
  4. Great catch and improvisation with the jumper. What lure did the damage, was it shot gun, short corner, long coner, etc.
  5. Today was a great day fishing boated 10 stripeys and 1 salmon dropped at least 8 from spitting the hook and trying to lift them over the side of the boat. I did try to log in with the coast guard but they never responded to me and also quite a few other guys were trying to log in and no one was returning there calls. Is this usual occourance as its the first time we have fished out wide and had to register our plan for the day.
  6. Thanks for that, i will make sure i do cheers, hopefully il have a report to post on monday.
  7. Hey Guys, Heading out sunday morning from botany in search of our first marlin or tuna, we dont mind Is anyone else heading out, conditions look great? Does anyone know what station they release the storm warnings on, cheers.
  8. Quick report, better than last attempt two weeks ago Hit the bay around 6 am caught enough yakkas in about 20 min, started using one of those yabsaki jigs, i was getting three hook ups every drop. Great tackle! Downrigged molinex point, drums and around the oil wharf, plenty on sounder but no takers. Decided to anchor up near rhe drums and have a go at a few tailor busting up the surface> Got a few on light ger which was fun. Put out the only squid we had that i had caught earlier in the week and in abouy 3 min zzzzzzzzzzzz finally i thought broke the drought. So excited didnt even bother winding in my soft plastic just put it in the rod holder and grabbed the rod going off. My mate comes over to the side of the boat to net the KINGIE!!!!! and then the rod in the holder buckles over so he grabs that and we are on to a double hook up. That leaves me to struggle wit the net and the rod and net his kingie for him so he can return the favour. Boated both kingies and high fives all around. One measured 52cm and the other 61cm both back in the drink and smiles all around while we are baiting up the yakkas and getting them over the edge to get smashed but nothing. Wish i had more squid this week every day im going for squid then back to the bay on the weekend. Out of the water at 11am and conditions were great the whole morning.
  9. I didnt know where to get them from but today i saw some boats next to molineux point in a little all cove area against the break wall. There are two tug boats anchored up about 50 m away. I went there and started throwing chook pellets in the water and in 5 min they were there. But it was hard to get small ones most were large and putting up a good fight o handlines . Hope this helps and gets you that king.
  10. Went out this morning wit three other mates in search for some surface activity early and anchoring up for some kingies later in the day. This seemed a sure bet from all the posts over the last week about the red hot activity in the bay! On the water at 6 looking everywhere for birds and anything on the sounder, this lasted till about 9am and with no one wetting a line yet. It is getting a little frustrating. so we decide to anchor up at mollinex point with a few other boats and try our luck with the kings. For bait we had frozen gars, live yakkas, soft plastics and some chrome lures. The rest of the day looked promising with an early hook up on bonito . How we were wrong The next 2 hours was spent flicking plastics, un weighted and weighted yakkas and gars and the occasional spinning. Still zip, then a good run to what we thought was a kingy but at the surface we sen it was a salmon going 68cm. This got the mood on the boat again and everyone was keen to get a line in. The next two hours we had another two hook ups but both dropped at the boat one kingy and one salmon. That was enough for me and we alled in quits at about 130pm. Im no expert in the bay more of a harbour fisherman, did anyone have luck out there today i saw a yellow twin hull boat clean up on kingys but couldnt see the bait they were using. I think im going to stick to the harbour just for now
  11. Andrew cheers for the advice, ill be sure to let you know how it goes. I will try for squid and yakkas got a spot that is usually promising and have never fished the spit, ill give it a go. Im usually at sow pigs, north head, shark island. cheers
