  1. Ended up having to get a lowrance GPS to plug into the NMEA network for everything to work. The garmin 750s does not transmit all of its GPS data onto the network for the gauges to share.

Ive got one of those viper barrel winches, its not bad, not the strongest motor. I did use south pacific before that (700FS model), i think they are bang for buck. Just make sure you use the correct rope.
  3. Just picked up a tournament blue water 2000 with a etec 200ho on the back. It has a garmin 750s combo on it. Problem is, i cant seem to get the speedo working, fuel remaining, km/litre etc. I do get speed and fuel flow etc showing on the garmin but the the icommand. Seems that anything that requires GPS data for it to calculate it doesnt work. Just get the 4 dashes showing it has no signal for that data on the gauge. I have had a look at the NMEA 2k network setup and looks like the garmin and 2 gauges are all hooked together but there is no stand alone GPS antenna. On my old boat (which was also a 150 etec setup) the GPS data ran off the HDS10 and did not require a separate GPS antenna for the gauges. Does anyone have a similar setup with the icommands / garmin 750s working 100% without a separate antenna. Im really hoping i dont have to fork out $300 for a GPS antenna.
  4. At cruise the cav plate is buried. I'm also getting a little porposing aswell.
  5. Trying to setup my outboard height correctly, my understanding is that im supposed to have it above the keel line. But on a hull like mine do i follow the keel line or the stepped line? Im thinking that my cav plate should be about 1" above the yellow line. Can anyone shed some light on this? Also does anyone know the purpose of the steps on these hulls.
  6. Bought gumption and acetone. About 60% of the stain comes off with gumption. With the acetone everything comes off but it leaves a guey like residue.
  7. This is what I've got so far. Word of advice the filler hardens really fast, you have about 4-5 min before everything in the mixing container is hard. I only had 180 grit paper so it took ages to sand it down. As you can see in the pic it's starting to take shape and the color match is actually pretty good. Getting some more sand paper tomorrow. So vicckid your telling me I still need another coat of flow coat?
  8. I just gashed my keel on my last trip aswell. Bought the same stuff from bcf will give it a go tomorrow. Will post up the results when I'm done.
  9. So I have these vinyl seats on my boat that are pretty dirty. Have tried off the shelf vinyl cleaners but none seem to work. Anyone know of any special cleaners or some old trick that magically fixes it? I have attached a pic of what the rest or the seat looks like.
  10. 400 hours isnt much at all especially for a four stroke. As long as they have a good service record. On some engines you can check what rev range it was in to make up the 400 hours. Some engines can have 500 hours but 400 of them spent trolling at 800rpm.

Ive used south pacific ones on my boats without any hiccups. Not too badly priced either.
  12. Thats a good lookin boat!
  13. Yeah boat im looking at has electric over hydrolic so she should be legal. I am however trying to get info on the weight of the hull. Cant seem to find it anywhere on the internet. And im getting different info with BMT weight. Website says 2.3t but others say 2t or even under.
