  1. Unfortunatley no pics. As mentioned there was only 2 of us on board a 45 ft Game boat.. Hard enough trying to trace the fish without gloves.. running up and down stairs to drive the boat.. backing down e.t.c Went out again yesterday and picked up a nice blue round 200kg... awesome fish, nearly spooled us on a 50W.. Got video footage Looks like a bumper season coming up.. Find the water and you will find the fish
  2. Checked the water temps on the morning of Boxing day, Water looked great. Saw a break in the weather before the southerly blew through. Late phone call and we took out our boat " Loose Crew 41 Luhrs Convertible " for a casual fish outside. Only 2 of us on board, Didnt get out to our destination till 2.00pm ( nightmare driving through the harbour with all the yachties on there special day !!!! ) For the next 3 hours we had the best Marlin fishin ive experienced off Sydney. Caught 6, lost another 6, lost count of how many runs we had. Absolute chaos with 2 of us on board, trying to drive the boat and trace the fish at the same time. We had no gloves on board. Dont think we were very prepared. We left them biting at 5pm after having enough.. A Day To Remember
  3. Well done Fellas, Great catch.. Saw you fellas on the marina before you left ( Were on Loose Crew, few pens down from you ) Didnt end up heading out from a late one on Saturday.. Will be out there next weekend
  4. Nah didnt get any pics or video, Wish i did though.. Was too busy trying to catch one. I think I went though about 30 different rigs I didnt know whether to laugh or cry before we hooked one !
  5. We were in about 800 fathoms on a 41 Luhrs convertible. we tried calling over several boats who trolled past us, as we only had one small gaff onboard fit for a stripie. Think everyone was thinking we were telling em to get out of the way ! Tail rope it was !
  6. Caught this +65kg model off Sydney on Saturday. Had them swimming around the boat for over 2 hours, Wouldnt touch anything we threw at them. Took a few tricks and special rigs to get them biting. Got busted off by 1 before and missed another hook up untill I hooked this. Took us over 4 hours to get her in the boat. Could not beleive the power of this fish. I did what it wanted whenever it wanted. Weighed her in at SGFC, Went 64.7kg after we bled it. A day i will never forget !!!!
  7. I caught the 64.3 kg fin weighed in on Saturday at sgfc. Took us a few hours to get em biting after having em swimming around the boat. Amazing experience ! Will post photos soon Edit: Report and photos can be found here!
  8. Thats for the results Reef Magic... I fished up there on Thursday through top Sunday.. we wernt in the tournment but wish i was now after readin the captures for billfish.. thur - fri we got some decent stripes up to 100kg , A black round 150kg and a blue round 180kg.. (4 caught from 10 over 2 days ) saturday was unfishable due to weather but on the sunday we were going home and picked up a stripe well over a 100kg plus another blue round the 130kg mark... All fishin was south of every other boat... cant imagine why boats wanna fish on top of each other.... Will have photos and video action soon... Cheers
  9. Lures range differnet colour and sizes... 8-13 inches Pakula, mould crafts, and other names cant remember. what ever works well in the water.. Each and all have there own theories on best lures but ive seen some decent fish go for the cheap shitty ones.. So who knows.. Half the problem is deciding which ones to use out of the 30 we have in our bag.. Hooks range from single 9/0-12/0 depending on lure size.. Gotta get back out there while its hot.. Just want that beast of a +500lb blue/black.. Aint stopping till i get it.. Heatons hill is calling
  10. Nah didnt get a measurment.. Waited around at the marina for over an hour for somebody to bring a set of heavy scales.. No Luck Fish was 6ft long.. Struggled to lift it up.. Could of been over 30kg.. who knows !!!! I was happier catchin that fish than a marlin.. Wont see one of them that size ever again im guessing..
  11. Hooks were pin point sharp... Rigged to perfection Kept the boat in gear whilst hook up was on.. Just one of those days i guess..
  12. Went out for a run off Sydney on Sunday.. Ran out 15 mile off Sydney heads, starting running south. 30 mins of trolling 100kg Stripe marlin jumps on the long rigger, dancing round for about 30 secs, hooks pulled. was not expecting anything that early in the day. 1 hour later big wahoo (est +30kg)launches airborne.. Dosent touch anything in the pattern Pushed out to browns for a go at a big blue.. Nothing around Came back in close bout 15 mile out, short rigger screams off for a minute.. Hooks pull. This was starting to really get ridiclous.. bit later on long rigger cracks. finally were hooked up.. Brought in this massive dollie, would have estimated at +30kg. never seen one this big in my life. awesome fish.. Great day out. water temp round 24.5.. great colour, plenty of flying fish about..
  13. Hey was wondering if anyone could give us some tips on where the livies in the harbour have been hiding of late ? Cheers
