How does everyone rig their live squid?

Hey guys i recently made a video on how we rig our live squid just a simple snell rig through the tip of the hood and one near the head. So what i wanted to know was how everyone else goes about rigging their livies and what hook size you use.

    Please help!

Hi guys, so obviously I have caught fish, however, being pretty new to fishing I just can't reliably catch fish. Now, I know that you will always have quiet days out fishing where the fish just aren't biting but I would go so far as to say that I only catch a fish in 1 out of 10 fishing sessions. Yeah I know right?. I'm aware that obviously, I can't substitute experience or become a superstar overnight but I still feel as if I should be able to catch a fish the majority of the time I go fishing. Please help. BTW my local species are bream, flathead, whiting and sometimes leatherjackets.

    beach fishing

  5. Hi all, We are two very keen fisherman who have been trying for the past six months but believe it or not, all we caught in those 6 months was an undersized bream and a toadfish. We know we are doing something wrong but can't pinpoint it, as we have tried different places: Botany bay boat ramp, Beach next to the runway near the Sydney airport, Patonga and we even hired a tinny at the Cooks River and left without a nibble. We tried different bait: squid, prawn, glow worms, regular worms, live crab and soft plastics, and we don't even get a nibble most of the time. We also tried different hooks and sinkers. Are we just really unlucky or are we doing something wrong or going to the wrong places? If so does anyone have any tips on what to do to increase our chances or do have any better spots than the ones listed above around Sydney?

  7. Hit botany bay on saturday, Half an hour before sunrise headed over to yarra bay to target squid plenty of weed in the water floating around on top made hell for us in the dark. Eventually hooked up to a 1kg squid 45 cm from the tip of the hood to the end . Sunrise came about moved over to captains cook landing (and what happened would go down in memory forever) caught 13 bait sized squid and 11 bait sized cuttlefish. It was great fun the kilo squid was taken on a 2.5 green back yo-zuri and the majority of the squid caught a captains cook landing were caught on a 2.5 blue yamashita. Luckily we had the go pro on and captured it all. Here is a lil video on how we caught the squid

    Squid

Hey guys, I am planning on going fishing Friday evening and I really want to catch a squid. I've never caught a squid, and recently picked up some squid jigs and have some of my late Pop's old ones. I was just wondering if you guys could tell me some spots and techniques for catching the squid? Note: I live in the Manly-Warringah area and I cant travel too far. I am also a land based fisherman. Thanks guys.
