  1. Hi all, I've just bought a new setup which I will use mostly for micro jigging and flicking soft vibes. Rod: Storm Gomoku Kaiten Nero (PE 1-3) Blue Reel: Shimano Calcutta 200B Line: 20lb Power Pro - Depth Hunter My questions is this; Could this setup be used to target decent size Pink Snapper? Or will they do my arse in? I will be mostly droppin 20-40g jigs and vibes for targeting Jewies in NSW. I fit about 200m of braid on the reel. I had a few spin and baitcast options, some made more sense than the 200B but I always wanted a Calcutta B, so I decided

  3. Hi Fishraiders, Saturday evening, while sitting in a bar, I got a call from a good fishing buddy Mat asking if I was free the next day for a chance at a 1m kingfish. While very short notice (found out later someone had pulled out of the planned trip) the plans I had for Sunday could be changed pretty easily. Said I was in and we made some initial plans. Went home and sorted out some food and gear for the trip and set the alarm for 4am. Mat rocked up at mine and we put the gear in my car, left his new car in my garage then drove West to Mark’s place where the boat was st
  4. It was a good day to head out wide yesterday, tagged along with a friend and went straight to browns, still quite a few blue eye to be caught, with some gemmies,an alfonsino and a bass groper (not shown in pic) added to the mix. I jigged the whole day, caught three fish in total, nothing worth boasting about in size, but at least the blue eye is a first for me. As I am typing this out right now, my whole left arm feels quite sore...
  5. Hey guys, I have found myself jigging a fair bit recently, and on the last trip managed to break my pe 1-3 gomoku on a sizeable reef fish (at the grip). I am looking for your guy's opinion on what you would recommend for around $400, hopefully spinning and a PE 4. I was looking at maybe the new Freams LT 5000 and a Major Craft Crostage PE 4 or should I spend more on the reel like a Biomaster 5000 and Gomoku PE2-4?
  6. Hi raiders, I've just posted a new Gomoku rod that I don't want to the swap sell page. I don't think that section gets many visits but this rod is the sort of think I know a few fishos froth over. If you're interested take a look
  7. Hi Guys Any good reports on the Shimano Jungle Stix 572H Regards Mewaldo
  8. G'day fellow fishos, this is my first post so go easy on me... Went out to browns to jig on a beautiful day and persistence payed off with one gemfish and one mirror dory. Both were hooked near the bottom at almost 500 meters with my 800g deep inchiku jig. After that, we went out further in hopes of getting connected with tuna. I managed to hook a nice albacore with my 300g slow jig on the drop. When the fish took the jig, it had already dropped around 300 meters. All in all, though nothing spectacular turned up, it was a fulfilling and very tiring trip! For more information about this typ
  9. Hello Fellow Raiders, My friend and I are looking to do a solid day on SP's, only problem is, we have not had much experience on them, seldomly hooking one up for a shot in the dark when our baited rigs are not providing results. Our success rates extends to maybe a 15cm snapper or bream (if we're lucky). We plan on going out on either Monday (weather permitting) and/or Friday in this coming week and trying out a new rig using only SP's. We were just wondering if anybody know of any solid land-based spots in the Sydney area (we live near the Botany/Port Hacking Region but willing to do a smal
