  1. Hi There, My name is Andras and I'm a total beginner, I have fished 3 times for now. I catch 2 small Breams at Narrabeen a few days back, but that's it for now. Today i was at the Manly Dam, and I had a great time, what a beautiful place, although have not seen a single fish. I started to google, and I apparently Bass fishing is the main thing up there, but I also heard that in the winter months its much harder to catch one. If anybody has any recommendations, how and what to fish there, this time of the year I would highly appreciate it. I am not strictly looking for advises for the dam, if there is other places you guys think I should try with different types of fish and set ups, I am also interested. I have been to Grotto Point, also an amazing place, had a fish around my bait but got away. Finally if anyone is going to fish the dam, or anywhere around manly and would not mind the company of curious beginner, to show him a few techniques and tricks, lt would be amazing. All the best to everyone. Andras
  2. I had have been planning to visit Manly Dam for 20 years, didn't go until yesterday and I only live 15 minutes away...Dooh. Firstly ;what a beautiful place..could be anywhere, a weekday and very few people; anyway I was targeting carp, fishing on the bottom over a regular helpings of ground bait.(Burley) Fishing blind, I had chosen a swim near the furthest car park with a small reed bed adjacent and about 4' of water. Long Story short, I blanked. Was using two rods, one with 'scrub worm' and the other triple corn kernel. My Victorian pal (after recovering from the 'visitor' $26 parking toll) took one Bass of around 25 cm. I'd be interested in any advice as to best location and what the current carp stock is like, I suspect nearer the dam wall may have been better? Cheers Guys.
  3. Hi all, Put together a brief fishing compilation from the last few months' worth of urban fishing adventures. Fished the Parra River at Canada Bay most recently (last Wednesday) and picked up a few small bream, the usual chopper tailor and a couple of flatties around the 44-46cm mark. Atomic Hardbodies and ZMan grubs accounted for most of the damage. Mullet bait schools were around in their droves and we witnessed a few close-to-shore bust-ups which looked like salmon but couldn't tempt a hookup. Enjoy!
