  1. Hey all, so in recent months I have gotten myself a yak (for both fishing and standard rec use). I was just wondering what portable/handheld fish finders everyone uses? I've been reading about the iBobber Bluetooth unit and was wondering if anyone has words of wisdom when it comes to these portable units or any others? Cheers!
  2. Beautiful morning on Narra Lagoon today. Arrived at 6am with Dean and launched the two green machines. No wind whatsoever. Pefectly still. Fished until 930 or so when the wind started to pick up. Dean was switching between plastics and hard bodies. I was exclusively using hard bodies, slow trolling two at a time, one micro mullet and one $4 jobbie from Decathlon. Had a great session picking up a 60cm, 59cm and 45cm flatties as well as a couple of throwbacks and the usual small super aggresive bream. Hard bodies did all the damage. Massive smiles all around. Flatties for dinner!! Cheers D.
  3. Headed out with Reelcrazy for a shallow water yak sesh on NYE. Got to the lake around 630 for a very civilised start. There was a little rain about but overcast conditions were going to be great for fishing. The plan was to troll some diving hard bodies in the skinny water for bream and flatties. Started from mid lake near the bridge and trolled south along the weed and sand banks. Got a nice little bream early which is always nice, on a red and black lively lure. Headed around the point towards the south and Ev started picking up regular bream to around 35cm. Fished the south for an hour or so but the weed was brutal and 95% of the time was spent deweeding lures (if anyone has a good solution for this please let me know). Time to move. Headed back to the north trying to get as close to the beds as possible. Around 930 Ev picks up a very nice 49cm lizard. I picked up a 52cm model around 30 mins later. Called it a day around 1030, chuffed we had delic tails for dinner. To top it off Ev picked up a little whiting on the troll home. All fish apart from the lizards released. The majority of Evs fish caught on a shiny gold halcro. Great morning on the lake. Can't wait to get back out there. Cheers

    Cooks river

Hi everyone, Went for a short early morning session in the yak today before first light (4am) at the cooks river. It's getting pretty damn cold. Struggled to wind in fish today with frozen hands. Have never fished it before but thought i'd scout the bridges. Unfortunately there must be short in my circuit; couldnt get the sounder started. So just fished the pylons blindly using a shad sp and soft vibe at the bridge. Caught 3 nice fat tailor from 50 - 52cm, bream at 29cm and a small flathead I didn't measure. All caught in the first hour of the runout. I might head back before the next moon for a try at jewies but not sure i can stand the smell! Thanks for reading Joe

  7. Hi all, It's been years since I've been online or even fishing for that matter but thought I'd get back into some bass and perhaps bream this summer. Picked up my new Yak this week. It hasn't seen water yet but I'm looking forward to christening it with some scaly friends before too long. Will fish the Nepean mostly but hopefully will get down to some places on the Parra like Hen and Chicken Bay for some bream as well. Anyway, really just a short post to say G'day to anyone who might still remember me on here and whack up a couple of picks of the new ride. Later David.
