Eel And Tomato Sauce.

EEL AND TOMATO SAUCE.

1 Eel--1s.

6 Tomatoes--2d.

2 oz. Veal Seasoning--2d.

1 oz. Butter

1 oz. Flour

Pepper and Salt--1d.

Total Cost--1 s. 5d.

Time--One Hour

Stuff and cook the eel as in the preceding recipe, and strain off the

liquor. Rub the tomatoes through a sieve; mix with half a pint of the

liquor in which the fish was cooked. Make a sauce of this of this with

butte and flour, season with pepper and salt, and pour it over the

fish. Garnish with parsley, and serve.

MallacootaPete, Yummie, I've got a better recipe for eel than that it's called " live eel in petrol puree- flambeau with a bit of 2stroke for a very exciting on the water visual cooking display in between the hamburgers and milk shakes" :yahoo:

That recipe must have been an old bushie's one from many moons ago.(note the old currency)

Not too many maccas around in those days so the old eel got a fanging. :puke::puke:

Smoked Eel is very edible, its actually quite nice, delicacy in some countries!. But im from Europe, so that may explain it! :1prop:

in nz for big occasions maoris go out and specifically target eels (tuna in maori) Normally come back with the real big ones which get smoked and feed tonnes of people.

On top of rice then grilled with a nice soy dipping sauce makes them COMPLETELY INedible :074:(EDITED FOR CLARIFICATION BY JEWGAFFER), :074: the japs know how to cook!

Yep but they can't make eels explode like I can when I hit them with a blow torch to get my Gamakatsus back :074::yahoo:
