Plano Line Spool Box For Leaders

Recommended Posts

Hi guys

I got my Plano Line box a while back, but found that the line would unwind all by itself, making a nasty mess, so started thinking about how to remedy the problem!!

Take one "Stubby Beer Holder" & cut out the 'floor'.

Cut it into 5 or 6 equal sized circles & slip each one over one of your Leader spools.

Replace them back into the box & pop the line thru the holes ..... don't forget to lock the box shut or the whole lot will go flying when picked up! :(

No more mess!!

Nice one Roberta - I have the same box and experience the same problem - not anymore.

Whilst my stubby holders are sacred, I think I can sacrifice one for the cause!!

Glad you liked the idea - it is even colour coded! :) :)

Even without the 'gucci' box, that is a great idea Roberta  Will carve up a stubby cooler this arvo!

Thanks for the suggestion

G'day Roffo

I just went to spool up & somehow it had all become a giant 'bird's nest!'

I had done something similar to my small fly fishing leader reels, just using elastic, as the slot I'd cut in the edge was too big & the line kept falling out & figured it would work here too! :) :) It does!! :biggrin2::yahoo:

Fantastic idea I was contemplating giving mine away.

And I did pick mine up the other day without clipping the top a huge birdsnest and my kids leaned some new words. :ranting2:

Following along those lines Roberta ... I know you like to save space and recycle, and here is a simple fix.

Use your neoprene coolers as baitcaster covers, ...

Then when the reel is on the rod, use it for its real purpose (pardon the pun)

Damned good idea Hodgey.

Looks like your stubby cooler collection is as good as you cap collection. :biggrin2:

I think in your case Ian the can of Bundy would have preference over the baitcaster. :tease:
