top breamer
hey all just wanted to know what kind of wire would be best suited to wire a boat up ? brands and types ? thanx tb
Geoff
Should only use tinned marine wireing which is available from the larger marine outlets. Do not use wireing from a hardware store as this is generally not marine grade. In respect to the actual size , will depend on the actual load , ie the cable from the battery to the switch pannel will need to be heavier than the wireing going to the actual accessory Geoff

stuartf
If you want or need a cheap version used liquid electrical tape it covers all bare cables and switches, You can even do both ends of a fuse just paint on with the fuse connected. I was very suprised how well it works. can work with cars as well.

I agree Stuball after a lifetime of electrical problems caused by solder (also known as "dry Joints") I have now gone to using liquid electrical tape covered by heat shrink for extra piece of mind and that little extra insulation.
