taloyoak Posted June 27, 2010 Share Posted June 27, 2010 Mate, I'd PM Luderick 59 ( Peter) - see what he has to say, as he is one of the best rock hoppers around, and a top bloke. I know he won't mind giving you some advice, and maybe take you out sometime. Fishing for pigs isn't much science, just patience and applying the technique. Best baits are weed and cunje, although everyone has their fav's, including prawns and abalone guts. Big rock rods help, an alvey reel make the 1:1 winching easier, and good arms seal the deal. Pretty much anywhere there is foam and wash, weed - you will get pigs. Around Sydney, North Head, Blue Fish Point, Mona Vale, Whale Beach are some of the good places. Also send Centerpin ( Geoff) a PM, although he is away until Aug 2nd, but he lives down in the Gong and knows a lot too, and all the places around the RNP area. Anyway, good luck.
