recurve Posted May 18, 2016 Share Posted May 18, 2016 Slimy's are very good eating. Cut the blood line and bones out of the centre of each fillet. Dry with a paper towel. Salt the skin and the flesh. Leave for 15 Min. Get a hot pan going with Oil. Fry hard and fast skin down. 2 min tops then flip and do one minute on flesh side. Server with Toast, Mayo, Capers, Ollves, Feta or any Italian goodies etc. We have this for lunch and love it. Or they make a fantastic Indian Curry. They are oily so suit curries very well. make sure you put the fish in at the very very end or they will disintegrate. if you freeze Slimies you can use them in the curry no worries. They do go a bit soft for frying. Next time you get some Slimies, Bleed them and give them a try. Also Pike is actually pretty good. One of my crew performs like a stuck pig if I try and keep them on board. Does a total chicken dance about the smell. If he is not around I keep them.
