fredflathead
Hello Fello Fishraiders, I live in Hobartville appr 2.3lks from Yarramundi bridge and kayak the Nepean quite often. I want to take the grandchildren to Yarramundi bridge to fish, what type of fish are there and what do I do with any carp caught? I will be using corn and bread for the grandchildren and I have lures and fly gear. thanks Norm
foolforjesus
Hi Norm, not too sure what fish you'll catch there, probably Bass & Carp Regarding what to do with Carp once caught, it's a bit of a misconception that you must kill them once caught. So long as you put them back in the water where you caught them, legally that's fine. That said, fisheries and I'm sure most people would prefer it if you dispatched them. The reason I know this to be true, is there is a waterway I wanted to catch Carp in, but didn't like the idea of killing them, especially with the Children. I contacted fisheries whom explained that it is not legally required to dispatch Carp, but it's preferred. Cheers, Chris
fredflathead
Thanks Chris, I will dispatch as it may help clean up the Nepean. I also hunt for deer and rabbits so the boys wont worry about the fish, they know I dont touch Santas deer and the easter bunny. They are 5 and 6 yrs so I will do it on the side. norm
foolforjesus
Ok cool...Yeah in general I think it's a good thing to take them out of the water, especially the Nepean. Bit by bit, it all helps. There is a chance you might catch a Trout too! Some came over the dam a while back!
