vo2c88
Hi guys, Currently looking at purchasing a sea legend 650 inboard and would like some advice. The topic which have always been subject to debate are inboards vs outboards. One question i would like to ask is, is the.transom on and inboard the same as the outboard allowing one to change to an outboard with minor body work. Any assistance or opinions will be appreciated. dunc333
the ones i have seen that have been swapped from inboard to outboard have had a pod fitted to strengthen the transom ,put up a few pics if you can because all boats are different ,cheers dunc333
vo2c88
Sorry guys its a 630 2000 model. It appears to have the same transom as those with outboards. Would it be a big task to put an outboard later on if wanted. Regards Vic
Testlab
Why not give Whittley a call and ask them. I don't think there is a big difference between the transoms as far as construction and strength overall, but the way a pod is attached could be highly dependent on where and how the transom is stiffened and gusseted.
