My top 10 rules for a deckie

1. Must be able to reverse a trailer.

2. Must be able to drive a boat in-case I'm over the limit.

3. Must have a strong back to be able to pull up the anchor in 60 mtr of water.

4. Must be able to cut bait and cube all day long.

5 .Must hand over his rod to the skipper if he hooks a Jew [that's for you Mercer 007]

6. Must hand over his rod when he has to re rig the skippers rod.

7. Must re rig the skippers rod.

8. Must jump in the water to hold the boat at the ramp.

9. Must be able to "gut n fillet" without butchering the catch.

10. Must wash boat and tackle at end of the day to skippers satisfaction.

wher'd all the fish go

i dont have "deckies" i have mates and family on board all i ask for passenger in box seat to pull up anchor, we split the cost between us for fuel and bait and its a great day out

Maybe the deckie could prop you up on the lounge in front of the TV with a day of fishing shows, esky full of soft drink. then take the boat out for a great days fishing boating etc etc etc. then give you a copy of the video they took while out on your boat catching PB's all day long. :074:

Maybe also for your trouble they could leave a scale from the massive fish they caught firmly stuck where the................... :sun:

I think some people are taking this thread this the wrong way. Obviously I don't have a deckie as such as I only have a small tinnie,All people on my boat are friends but the main one I call a deckie.........and its his job to pull the anchor up.
