oziodin
I've spoken to a lot of people about Bonito saying a lot of not so positive things when it come to eating them but I find they are one of the best fish to eat no bones white flesh great taste . When caught bleed them, ice them . When ashore Fillet them along the back bone get two nice size slaps. When getting home wash ( leave the skin on optional , I leave it on myself) cut them into 4-5 inch steaks . Boil a good size pot of Water come a half cup of Vingar into water make sure water is back to boiling and then drop the Bonito Steakes into the pot poach for 5-6 min . Take the Bonito out and serve it with Boiled Spuds & white Sauce. Give it a Go hope you will like this Dish . Cheers. Oziodin
rockfisherman
Thanks for that. Will definetly give that a go. I also rate bonito, more so the sashimi aspect, but have cooked it over some coals in foil with tomato inside to maintain moisture, but still carefully monitored. Came out very nice. MV Sunray
I also think Bonito are pretty good eating. Never kept a stripe tuna for eating tho. how do they compare? Usually just bait them.

Same as or better than bonito... Bleed and ice as you would. Slice and dice. Enjoy If it's to good to be true, it usually is...
