Tunatrollin
What size crimp does everyone use on what size mono leader ?? And then also wire leader ? Can you use the copper ones on mono or are they just meant for wire and keep the alloy for the mono ?? Cheers
Paikea
I usually select crimps that will just accommodate the diameter of the mono or wire. Never used copper on Mono but they are soft annealed so should not be a problem. Cheers Paikea
boattart
These days I use copper or brass figure 8 crimps on everything. Size depends on your trace diameter so pick one that is already a snug fit before crimping. There are several decent crimps available and really until you hit 400lb mono and over most will be fine. This doesn't mean there's a problem with the Aluminium it's just my preference but I would never use Aluminium on stainless wire as electrolysis will dissolve the crimp and weaken it and especially if it's heat shrunk over the top you won't notice till it's too late. Dave G
Try and buy the crimps that have a mono rating on the pack. Makes it easy
