Camo1808
Hey everyone. I have just recently bought myself my first kayak and so I done the logic thing and bought myself a fish finder. Found a lady selling a brand new one never used pretty cheap. Pounced on the opportunity to buy it so I did. Opened it to start playing around and realised it needed a 12V battery for power. My question is that is this the case for all fish finders or how else do they power?? Need advice ASAP fellas. Cheers
SquidMarks
all of them need the 12 volts mate (how else would they power?) get yourself a small motorcycle battery and hook it up. that will be your best bet

xavdav
Hey Camo, A burglar alarm battery, will do the trick. a 3 amp/12 volt battery would weight about 3 or 400 gm and depending how greedy your sounder is, should last the whole day. check out Battery World
sharknett
I use a blue 9800mAh LiIon I got off ebay for $20. Get about 8-10 hours on a Garmin 300c and no issues after 2 years
