Browns firing

Nice fish mate. Did you get that on an electric or on that overhead sitting in the side of the photo? I'm looking at a rod and reel setup for bottom bashing at browns while the others run the electric. I've used a tekota 700 out there a few times before and the level wind is convenient but harness lugs would definitely help on a decent fish.

none of this electric business for me, I want to feel like I have actually caught/beaten the fish and achieved something

no sport at all otherwise

Proven on my mates boat last year also its faster. We both hooked up to big gemmies same time...he hit "up" on his el;ectric and I started cranking. My fish was on the deck and his was 100m still down in shark danger

I use setup as per this pic from when we were hooked up to a similar size blue eye last year.

Double handed Deck winch modified to hold a 80lb game rod out as a boom arm...can see bites clearly and gives shock loading and helps lift
