NaClH2OK9
So... This question ( or a variant) has probably been asked more times in more forums than any other. But. There is nothing like local knowledge and Raiders is the biggest online community based around NSW there is. In anticipation to the obvious questions. 16-18 foot trailer boat. Usually trolling 8kts up to 25k out. 15KG outfits running 2 rods. I've read many articles around colours. Head styles and positions. But in a 2 rig set up. What would you reach for as a go to pair? NaClH2OK9
Thanks madracket. I've got the lumo. But not had a hit in half a dozen outings. Was anticipating evil as a a second choice on short but don't have one yet. Stew. Funny you suggest a bibles. Hadn't seen one in a spread till last weekend when boattart included one. Stevefish. Yes and no. I'm looking to get a couple of all rounders to start me off. Without getting caught up is all the glitter without seeking advice from the experience e on this site. NaClH2OK9
Thanks everyone for the brilliant advice. Some stuff I've thought of and things like bibles I haven't. I've pm scent blazer too for his recommended favourites in this scenario and will purchase to add to my starter collection . It's a great starting point for a junior game fisher. Thank you. Scent Blazer Lures
Hey Steve If I had to run only 2 lures I would run the following: 1) 6" Lure Chain in a blue colorIt's a catch-all lure, everything and anything will hit it, small dollies, stripped tuna, albacore, kingies, big dollies, marlin. Because it's 3 lures it looks like a small school of bait fish and that's what predators are looking everyday of the week. I put pilchards inside bait chamber of the stinger lure only, its a good oily all round bait that all pelagic fish eat. Basically it represents a school of small pilchards, hard for any pelagic fish to resist. We have also run this lure in the harbour and caught, tailor, salmon and bonito on them. http://www.scentblazer.com/Products/tabid/292/ProdID/1254/CatID/196/Lure_Chain_Sardine__Bullet_Head.aspx http://www.scentblazer.com/Products/tabid/292/ProdID/1255/CatID/196/Lure_Chain_Ballyhoo__Bullet_Head.aspx http://www.scentblazer.com/Products/tabid/292/ProdID/1274/CatID/197/Lure_Chain_Evil__Pusher_Head.aspx 2) 9" Smoker Head in red/black or pinkLooks like a squid and put squid in the bait chamber so it tastes like a squid. Run this shorter in front of the lure chain. Because squid have no real defence against predatory fish, expect their ink smoke screen, fish generally attack squid aggressively and without fear. We have caught a lot fish on this lure this season, kingies, big dollies, a few marlin hook-ups, even very small dollies on it. Very good color for Yellowfin and Bluefin as well. http://www.scentblazer.com/Products/tabid/292/ProdID/977/CatID/129/Red__Black_Squid__Medium_Smoker_Head.aspx http://www.scentblazer.com/Products/tabid/292/ProdID/982/CatID/129/Pink__Medium_Smoker_Head.aspx PhotosBluefin caught on 6" Sardine Lure ChainBull Dolphin Fish caught on 9" Red/Black Squid Peter Edited July 14, 2015 by Scent Blazer Lures
chocolate
Yes my to are the PHYSCO small chrome jet Pink skirt with minimal white on inside 100mm long, My best lure of all time which i named myself due to not knowing were it come from this lure has caught them all, always put it out. Then Peter Pakula sprocket in lumo always out. Look in say that Pete from Scent Blaze has some very good lures as well when my boat is up and running again they will be on board guaranteed, The lure chain is a must also his high speed lures, One in lumo and one in Black and gold tuna colour, And why you ask the SCENT thats why it has its advantage over all other thats why and they work also its Aussie made.
