Hi Raiders,

Am I right in saying that the NSW government has just banned (as of 31st August) recreational fishing in key parts of Byron Bay, Coffs Harbour, Port Stephens, Jervis Bay and Batemans Bay?

Looks like the shore based fishos are te winners as the ave cganged mist of the areas to be habitat protection instead of sznctuary zones. Boaters are sill out if luck but we havd a big ocezn to fish .

From what I can see areas I used to fish I no longer can. Check out the pic below, we holiday at Clarkes beach Byron bay and fish near the pass. Caught some great long toms and have very fond memories. Fishing is now banned here
