Bar-garse
Who has the definative answer. When at anchor should the sounder be on or off? With my skill level I have seen no differance ( always catch very little ) but that is my problem. Who has the answer????
Guest Jocool
I always keep it on, so I couldn't say if it makes a difference. But then again, I'm the same as you! I catch bugger all!
REKLESS
It really depends on what I am doing at that time,if I am in tight on a very shallow reef for Snapper ,it goes off once the engine gets switched off.At anchor in deeper water it stays on ,same with drifting. You can hear the things "pinging" away and it gets especially noisy when it is at 50hz (Furuno),I have had an experience when we had dolphins under the boat going nuts just under the transducer, possibly trying to find where the clicking was coming from!.
