I am new to boating so you help would be appreciated. When I was cleaning my boat today after a trip out I noticed that it looks like the plate that the outboard mounts to seems to have a line around it like it is moving. Sorry if this is a dumb question, I have attached a photo of what I mean.

Cant seem to enlarge the pics in your post, but does it look like the mounting bolts are loose or have shifted?

Was more worried about what looks to be like a stress line or something !!!!. This photo might show it better.

Looks like the edge of the insulator. Mine looks similar although grey in colour

As long as the mounting bolts are tight i wouldnt worry too much.

Hey bakes. If your talking about the White horizontal line extending out from the outboard mounting plate you'll find it is on most alloy boats. If you look inside the transom you'll find there are stiffening plates welded at those points.

If the mount bolts are tight and your still concerned take it to a marine workshop to get checked. I think one of the site sponsors are a marine mechanic.
