Port Hacking 100

Hi all, fished the Port Hacking game comp over the weekend,we were targeting Blues mainly but sadly didn't turn a reel for the two days.We mainly trolled around the Southern Canyons. There were 62 boats and most didn't turn a reel either, but there were a few Yellow fin captured I think the biggest went about 40-50 kg, a couple of good size Makos around 130kg and a Blue was captured yesterday around 130kg , a few smaller striped Marlin tagged. Most of the action was East of Heatons but the better looking water was around the Canyons but sadly there was not much life about at all.Saturday we saw some large pods of False Killer whales which were amazing to cruise along with. Yesterday the water was pretty sloppy with the current running into the wind which made it a bit choppy but mellowed as we headed further East, also heard a Broadbill was taken off Sydney but wasn't a boat in the comp, all in all a great weekend with plenty of yarns, cold beers and wide eyes looking at some stunning boats at the Marina at the end of the day and a very well run event.Ive gone from fishing from a Kayak to a 35ft game boat but think it may be time to get the Yak out and chase some Kings in the Hacking after seeing some pics of a 111cm horse at the club on Saturday night lol.

Tight lines all :)

sounds like a better day yesterday, we were out on Saturday and there wasn't much caught. We hooked a couple of stripes about 30 miles out but dropped them. Heard the same the best water was about 10 miles east of Heatons.

Do you know where they got the yellowfin?
