Adsy91
Anyone familiar with GT's and Bigeye Trevally? Pretty sure I got a few juvenile GT today but not one to call it if I'm unsure so I'll leave it up to the bioligists and northern waters guys Here's a bigeye from yesterday for comparison Cheers Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
0 Blackfish
I recon the first is a Juvenile GT Caranx ignobilis And the second is a Big Eye Trevally Caranax sexfasciatus As you thought. Great fun on the light gear. Edited June 2, 2016 by Blackfish
0 Adsy91
Beauty thanks for the clarification! Certainly had me testing my skill on 6lb in the oyster leases Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
0 Jewhunter
Yep, Blackfish is spot on. We get them both up here on the Tweed. If there are plenty around try ripping a small popper over the top of them for some real fun. The surface hits, even from juvenile fish, is something else! 0 Adsy91
I managed a few on poppers chasing jacks in brisbane but I stupidly only brought light winter breaming gear =/ I thought about trying to rig up a home made popper with what I could find lying around but decided my time was better spent fishing with what I had. Definitely will come back more prepared next time now I know where they like to hide. Thanks for the replies guys Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
0 nbdshroom
Looks like your initial thoughts on the fish were correct. Thanks all.
