Volitan
Last year, around this time, I decided that this summer (the one just gone) was going to be the year in which I mastered in-shore kingfish fishing. Typically, life intervened and I managed only four trips - all on Pittwater - all in May - for a total of two fish. Now I'm wondering is it too late. Do I have to wait for next summer, or is it possible to catch kingfish in winter. Once the water clears up a bit, is it worth giving Pittwater or maybe the harbour a go? nickb111
Last year I got a few kings in Pittwater in August. They were feeding on micro bait and fly fishing was essential, they wouldn't touch anything that wasn't tiny, and the ease of recasting with the fly rod meant that you could put the fly out at a higher rate than with lures or bait. Putting whatever livies you could find down deep would also be a way to try and get a big one Edited June 19, 2016 by nickb111
harold
There were plenty swimming around at The Basin 3 weeks ago. Haven't been out since due to the wonderful weather.
